My mother is a secular Jew who came to the United States with her family, refugees from Germany during the Holocaust. My father grew up in the Methodist Church in Texas, but was greatly influenced by his Catholic Mother, and self identified as an athiest. My step-father is a practicing Buddhist, with Taoist leanings.
Not hard to see where the conflict started.
