A fourth destroyed a bus near a subway entrance, killing 13 people, police said.

The bus was diverted according to a caption on a BBC map. Could that diversion prevented another Underground blast? Did that diversion take the bomber away from the subway entrance?

Much like what I was thinking the other day - I think that the bus bombing was an aberration. It was the very last one to go off, and a while after all the other ones, and it was alone as far as buses were concerned. My thought is that for whatever reason, that terrorist was late to the train bombing party. By the time he was out and enroute, the town was like a kicked over anthill from the other blasts, with a chance of success of bombing any more trains severely remote to non-existent. I think the bomber, not wanting to be a total failure in the eyes of his compatriots, went ahead and did his thing, whether it be going out in a blaze of suicidal "glory", or setting a timer and fleeing to save his sorry a$$.

If it had been near the entrance it probably would have made escape from the other blasts more difficult.

Strange that one bomb should go off about an hour after the rest. Was one bomber late or chickened out until he heard of the others going off? Was that planned or unplanned?
