Oh, those crazy librarians! When you've got your head stuck in a book all day, it's hard to face reality.
I have a graduate degree in library science, and believe me there are plenty of librarians who are embarrassed by the ALA. Just as the World Council of Churches doesn't really represent Protestants, the ALA is off on a tangent all its own.
