Meh.

Arnold just one-upped Dubya. Dubya had the porn star to the White House and Arnold couldn't let Dubya seem less prudish than him.

Family values? What are those, anyway? Oh well, just pass me the Kool-Aid.

"I am pleased to extend warm greetings to all who have gathered for this year's Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Pride Celebrations."

Geeeezzz...Couldn't your staff get you out of such a smarmy crap scented "proclamation"?

What the hell is wrong with people anymore?

Okay, I have an idea.

Every state (and the ded) needs to create a new department responsible for checking the background of each an every individual, both paid AND volunteer, that is involved in any public event which the state / the fed wishes to greet, congratulate, or otherwise make to feel "welcome". If any person involved with the planning, conduct, financing (to include donars, both monetary or in-kind), or other significant activities relating to the event are discovered that have violated any criminal statutes, the states / he fed shall be prohibited from welcoming the organization / the event to be conducted.

90% of CA would not vote for Tom McClintock. Why do FRingers dream the impossible dream?

Because some FReepers consult the facts while others are too dense to admit the facts?

Here is the last USA Today/CNN/GALLUP poll before the recall.

6. If the choice were between Cruz Bustamante, the Democrat and Tom McClintock, the Republican, who would you be more likely to vote for: Cruz Bustamante or Tom McClintock?

September 25-27
Registered Voters

McClintock 49%
Bustamante 42%

Probable Voters

McClintock 56%
Bustamante 37%

I think Arnold believed his own publicist.

He's a total idiot and disaster.

To be an effective actor, one must be able to assume the character portrayed and, as that person, believe what one is saying, even if it is wholly diametric to one's own beliefs.

Arnold is an actor, who deliberately and carefully parses what he says so that it can be misunderstood in the manner he intends. Thus "special interests" wer tribes and prison guards, as he raked in Wall Street and developer money. For government to "live within its means" all he has to believe is that his leadership will create such prosperity as to increase its ability to pay off the debts he's racking up. He gets a good chuckle out of it too, assuming that it is his victims who are stupid.

Arnold is a psychopath on the order of Bill Clinton, a man so internally dishonest that he can get himself to justify whatever he says. That's who these idiot Arndroids fell for. It says a lot about them.

Well said and thought. Your words are like arrows hitting the bullseye.

Has to be repeated:

"Arnold is a psychopath on the order of Bill Clinton, a man so internally dishonest that he can get himself to justify whatever he says."

It is indeed a terrible shame that McClinton wasn't elected. He's a real human.

You understand this gay thing in San Diego is an annual event, right?

He's never pretended to be a anti-gay religious conservative.

If his office didn't do due diligence on this, then shame on them.

California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger is taking heat on the Internet for endorsing San Diego's "gay pride" celebration slated for later this month, with critics pointing out two of the men helping to stage the event are convicted pedophiles.

The OneTerminator better enjoy his 5 minutes of fame in the world of politics...

It's PCism run amok.

Of course the facts will be covered up by the liberal but declining mainstream media.

This Freeper doesn't think media polls are facts. This Freeper thinks media polls are nothing more than propaganda designed to influence opinion, rather than reflect it. In 1993, there was a vote that clearly showed McClintock's support. He failed. Twice before he ran for statewide office and failed. 3 time loser McClintock. How many times do the voters have to reject him before McClintock catches on? I dunno.

I think McClintock would make a fine Republican candidate in a conservative and maybe even a moderate state like mine. I agree with him on many issues, and I'd have no trouble voting for him...in fact I'd love it if he could win CA, but IMO he is too conservative for the voters of CA. Those are the facts proven by voting and not some push poll designed to eat away at Arnold's support just before the 2003 election.

Just my opinion ymmv

Gallup isn't Field.

Catches on that the fact that his own Party didn't give him a dime or diddly in organizational support, while shafting the gubernatorial candidate and blocking a reasonable GOTV effort (1.6 million registered Republicans didn't vote in that election) is real the reason he lost?

Candidate Votes Pct.  Spent ($MM)
Steve Westly Moderate Democrat 45.4 $10.6
Tom McClintock Conservative Republican   45.1 $2.0

Result? The conservative got no support from the GOP,
was outspent 5:1 by a moderate Democrat,
and nearly won anyway.

Candidate Votes Vote Pct.  Spent ($MM)
Cruz M. Bustamante Leftist Democrat 49.5 $4.6
Bruce Mc Pherson Moderate Republican 41.8 $2.8

Result? The “moderate” Republican darling of the GOP got lots of support,
was outspent only 1.6:1 by an extreme leftist with no credibility,
the "electable" GOP "moderate" LOST by a margin NINE TIMES larger than the unsupported conservative in the same election.

You really have no clue about California. Maybe you'd best stop trading in media driven truisms or bandying "just my opinion" as if it were established fact.

I believe the failure of a candidate is the fault of the candidate. You seem to think the fault lies with a conspiracy of everyone else including the people who tried to help the candidate get elected but just didn't do enough and the voters who rejected the candidate because their not as smart as you. We have nothing more to politely discuss. Have a nice day.
