Sad. People who say they hate the US or Britain but enjoy the prosperity and advantages of living in our good countries are dishonest and have no integrity.

I think your comments tonight are thoughtless and in bad taste especially knowing that the dose is posted tonight by myself an English person with what has happened today in my country.

eskimo doesn't have the maturity or decency to care about you, or anyone but himself, snugs.

On behalf of all Americans, I apologize to you for his crudity and thoughtless comments, and want you to know again that we, as Americans stand firmly behind you Brits as our dearest friends and strongest allies.

Thank you for being there for us. NOW we will be there for you!

eskimo, We know all we need to know about you. for several years now you drop in from time to time strictly to disrupt this thread. What we know about you is that you are a petty, juvenile FReeper who is obviously a very bitter person who takes great joy in trashing your Commander-in-Chief and upsetting the FReepers who visit this daily thread to avoid people like you. Countless times we have asked you to leave, but much like a case of Herpes, you show up at the worst possible time to show your ugliness. Get a life Pal, going through it being miserable is not good for anybodies soul

I'm doing well, snugs. It's been a very busy summer, with a lot going on and not much time to post. Just got back from a short vacation at the beach with my son's family.

I pinged you to the thread with Rummy's statement today, because I did not want you to miss it. He is just a great man and a magnificent American patriot.

Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld calls for drivers to start their engines Saturday, July 2, 2005, for the rain-delayed NASCAR Pepsi 400 at Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Fla.

I didn't think I could respect Sec. Rumsfeld more, but after reading his statement, I do. And I said on that thread, his words mean something because he has and will back it up with action.

For those of you who missed it, here's a part of what he said.

Though it is not yet known with certainty precisely who is responsible, we do know terrorists’ intentions. They strike without warning and without regard for human life in the hope that they can frighten and intimidate free people -- to change our way of life. And they won't stop until their side or our side has prevailed.

But if these terrorists thought they could intimidate the people of a great nation, they picked the wrong people and the wrong nation. For generations, tyrants, fascists, and terrorists have sought to carry out their violent designs upon the British people only to founder upon its unrelenting shores.

Before long, I suspect that those responsible for these acts will encounter British steel. Their kind of steel has an uncommon strength. It does not bend or break.

The British have learned from history that this kind of evil must be confronted. It cannot be appeased. Our two countries understand well that once a people give in to terrorists’ demands, whatever they are, their demands will grow.

The British people are determined and resolute. And I know the people of the United States are proud to stand at their side.

Donald L. Rumsfeld
United States Secretary of Defense

Slapping upside the head is good with me....like you said, you cannot reason/debate them...you first have to get their attention...LOL....this is the first time Jonathan has run into someone like him...he's young and will learn that there are US *citizens* who actually hate this country. I think he now understands what I've been trying to tell him about the Dems, who hate America..he's learned firsthand.

It was great to see so many leaders behind England--shoulder-to-shoulder. It was as though they confronted the enemy face-to-face...except that terrorists, by their very nature, are C*O*W*A*R*D*S.

BTW: Did anyone else notice that france's jacque was nervous, shifting from foot-to-foot and looking around?

It may have worked for the good guys that the cowards attacked while the conference was meeting. It forced the likes of jacque to make a stand.

I'm not stereotyping either of you.

He's leading the world, and you're sitting there saying stupid things about biking.

It's not hard to tell who's real and who's a fraud. You've never said a thing of substance in all the years I've seen you post on this forum.

Now be a man and go away.

PM Howard and the Aussies are true friends

We stay in Iraq: Howard

08jul05

THE terrorist attacks in London would further strengthen Australia's resolve to continue in the war against terrorism, Prime Minister John Howard said today.

Mr Howard said the series of blasts targeting London's underground and bus networks would not affect Australia's involvement in Iraq.
He said the attacks were a reminder of the indiscriminate nature of terrorism.

"I want to make it very plain that this kind of attack will not alter the attitude of the Government of Australia towards terrorism and towards the commitments we have with our American, British and other friends to Iraq to Afghanistan," he told ABC radio.

"People must understand that a country like Australia will not be bullied or intimidated and the people who believe we can are wrong.
