What makes you think our forces aren't trying to get him? Look into history--just because you want someone doesn't mean the government snaps its fingers and he appears. Are you seriously suggesting that we don't have forces actively looking for him?
What exactly are you asking to be done--specifically, not "find him" because that's what everyone wants.

We never "GOT" Hitler after WWII, but that did not lessen the fact that he was no longer a factor. Getting Bin Ladden would be a nice symbolic gesture, but it is far more important to neutralize the global terror network. Bin Ladden is more of an inspirational figure for the terrorists, rather than a tactical leader. I am not sure how much "inspiring" he is able to do, on the run and under cover.
