A KSFO Host Heads to Iraq
Why do radio people feel so compelled to keep everything a secret, even when they do something good?
San Francisco talk radio KGO-AM (810) manager Jack Swanson has quietly been doing something critics have complained about: He's trying to add some females to the boy's club of male hosts.
His wife, KSFO-AM host Melanie Morgan, is heading to Iraq for some front-line coverage. And the past couple of Sunday nights, I've heard San Francisco Examiner film writer Edie Sellers doing her first shows filling in on Bill Wattenberg's 10p.m. to 1 a.m. shift...and they were good.
Melanie Morgan - KSFO San Francisco, Co-Chair of Move America Forward
As for Swanson's wife, the every flamboyant Morgan, is heading for Iraq to cover efforts there. Morgan is cohost of the KSFO-AM (560) morning show with Lee Rodgers and is going over with a group of talk radio hosts.
We are sick and tired of seeing and hearing headlines in the mainstream media about our defeat in Iraq," says Morgan in a press release. "I want to bring you the REAL story that the mainstream media won't report---the successes that American fighting men and women are experiencing to keep our country safe from terrorists."
Sounds like she's carrying some bias with her baggage...but I'll be glad to hear her first-hand reports, which start July 11 on the show from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. I hope she'll wander away from her government keepers long enough to get some real stories.

Kava is a left winger. He absolutely hated Savage when he had a local SF area show.
He goes into the other woman's background but fails to mention that Melanie Morgan has experience in the middle east. She was a TV reporter and was in the ME in the 80's. She has interviewed Yassir Arafat among others.
Melanie is one of the best active proponents for the Conservative Agenda that I have seen.
She often goes out of her way to help small groups for which she gets almost no recognition.
I'm going to take this opportunity to post a link to MAF's commercial outing Turban Durbin.Outing the Blame America First Crowd
Melanie asked to have this posted last week when it came out, but I didn't have time. Maybe someone else did.
