VANCOUVER, British Columbia (AP) - One of the FBI's most-wanted fugitives, a suspected eco-terrorist known as Tre Arrow, was ordered extradited back to the United States on Thursday to face charges of firebombings.

Arrow, born Michael Scarpitti, is accused of participating in the 2001 firebombing of logging and cement trucks in Oregon. The FBI claims he is associated with the Earth Liberation Front (ELF), a group that has claimed responsibility for dozens of acts of destruction over the past few years.

Arrow was seeking refugee status in Canada, according to his lawyer.

Put him in a cell with the WTC bomber from the first attack.

Michael Scarpitti, also known as Tre Arrow, is shown in this July 18, 2000, photo in Portland, Ore. One of the FBI's most wanted fugitives, Scarpitti told an extradition hearing Monday June 27, 2005 he should be allowed to remain in Canada as he was being unfairly targeted by the U.S. government because he chose to buck the status quo. "buck the status quo."

Translates nicely to "break the law".

Yep - aka "Ferret Mike." Lived near Eugene, IIRC. Knew some of the tree-sitters, too, but I don't recall he was ever in favor of any kind of violence. Always had cordial discussions with him even we differed, which was most of the time...
