British Muslims were issued with a stark warning to stay indoors today, amid fears of reprisals following the London bombings.
Massoud Shadjareh, chairman of the Islamic Human Rights Commission, appealed for calm and condemned the bombings.
He said: “The Islamic Human Rights Commission utterly condemns this attack, but now we appeal that there should be no further victims as a result of reprisals.”
There was no immediate confirmation of who was responsible for the attacks, but a claim was made on the Al-Qal’ah – Fortress – internet site, by a group calling themselves the Secret Organisation Group of Al-Qa’ida of Jihad Organisation in Europe.
Mr Shadjareh said some members of the Muslim community suffered a backlash following the September 11 2001 terror attacks in the United States, and the Madrid train bombing in March 2004.
He said he was “very concerned about a backlash” and called on British Muslims to “remain vigilant and calm and stay indoors”.
He said: “IHRC is advising Muslims not to travel or go out unless necessary, and is particularly concerned that women should not go out alone in this climate.
“In the event of being attacked, IHRC urges victims not to retaliate and to report the matter to the police and appropriate authorities.”

The only attacks resulting from 9/11 in the U.S. were, I believe misdirected assaults on a Sikh and Sikhs are NOT Muslims.
All Muslims and even MOST Muslims are not responsible for this kind of behavior. Any retaliation should be directed at Wahhabists - ALL of them, and those radical Islamic Fundamentalists of OTHER sects which advocate and support violence against western civlization, non-Muslims of every stripe, and civilian populations.
Both the American and British governments, and to an even GREATER degree, the governments of other European western Nations have been far too permissive and tolerant of radical, violent, anti-Christian and anti-Jewish elements in the Islamic communities of their own nations operating under the misapplied aegis of "free speech".
If a Christian or Jew dared to spew the kind of violent rhetoric spun by many of these Islamic clerics against the very nations which have offered them homes and allowed them to establish houses of worship and education, said Christians or Jews would be incarcerated.
Yet we continue to allow these Wahhabist fanatics and their allies to use mosques, madrassehs and the public forum to stir up anti-western, anti-Christian, and anti-Jewish hatred in the Islamic communities here.
It must stop and these people must be muzzled, incarcerated, expelled or executed.
Good point. It's the equivalent of race baiting. And the local Muslims should be concerned. Either they are with the terror minded or they're not and it's time they choose. The local imams have been stirring up what anyone else would call hate speech with their calls for death to the infidel and such. I know many Brits are against the terror and firmly allied with us, but there, as here, some seem sympathetic to the terrorists or still looking at them through rose colored or Michael Moore tainted glasses.
I think you will find that the professional Conspiracists have got that covered. That doesn't mean that it isn't happening, of course. It seems unlikely though, since no one would actually benefit from the destruction of civilization. Especially, no one would be able to gamble on emerging on top when the dust settles.

Don't hold your breath for a CAIR response with any substance. CAIR is nothing but the puppet of Al Queda - and the rest of the Islamist extremists. Their goal is to put a "soft face" to Islam. OF course, their buddies in Al Queda are not making it easy.
It's a shame too many people have to go the PC route and fall for CAIR's claims.

You may be right. I'm just trying to figure out exactly who is funding the terrorists and why. There is no one here who believes Islam is evil more than I do. I just wonder if it is the ultimate evil.

There is no one funding the Terrorists except the error-stricken graduates of the madrassahs.
We never outlawed Communism or Nazism, we simply recognized their inherant nature. We haven't done that here.

Nor has "non-radical" Islam done enough that we can tell the difference.
