Those were POW camps in Alabama. Only citizens of Japanese descent (and then only those along the West Coast) were interned en masse.

As steveegg confirmed, they were indeed prison camps. I was in error when I wrote "aka internment camps".

There was an invasion scare along the West Coast after Pearl Harbor.

The Japanese actually did invade our Aleutian Islands (Alaska). And there was some attack on Oregon.

And of course, the Philippines and Guam, too, I believe, which were our territories/protectorates at the time were invaded and occupied by the Japanese.
