A close friend of mine just arrived in London with her daughter this morning and was in transit to their hotel when the bombs went off. She emailed me and said the front of the hotel was affected and was cordoned off since it is near the site of one of the explosions (Edgeware). She said that the taxis were running efficiently and the people of London were very helpful to two American women that were just dropped into the event. She also said strangers were helping them get their luggage to the hotel. What a day...

Glad to hear your friends are okay. Bit of a baptimism of fire! I think you mean Edgware Road. Coincidentally, there was an American tourist interviewed on the BBC news who had just arrived in London and - on her way to see the changing of the guard - saw instead the bus drive past and have its roof blow off.
I suppose it's something to put in the postcard!
Hopefully, this won't deter Americans from holidaying in London in the future. It's mercifully been a long time since there was a terror attack on the capital.
