13 seconds is no big deal. But if cyclingnews is correct in that the crash was at the 900m to go mark, then they should correct that to give the peloton all the same time as the stage winner.
Was Lance just held back due to the crash or did he go down as well?
Velonews is saying 700m, and the TDF site also says 900. But it's hard to tell whether the crash was prior to that or outside the 1km flag...
Here is what the rules say: "In the event a rider or riders suffer a fall, puncture or mechanical incident after passing the red flame, and such an incident is duly recognised, in the last 3 kilometres, the rider or riders involved are credited with the same finishing time of the rider or riders they were with at the time of the incident. "
Lance didn't go down so he doesn't get the same time as the winner.
Bernucci had already broken free before the crash, so the riders involved with the crash wouldn't be credited with his time.
