"Hey Hollywood" by The Right Brothers

Well I heard some movie stars talking on TV
Said they were being a voice for you and me
Saying things like "no blood for oil" and "not in our name"
And just like the roar of an F-16, I heard this country say

Hey Hollywood, we hear your message and it don't sound good
Your just running this country down with our troops overseas
Hey Hollywood, take a look around if you would
And if you don't love this land you're free to leave.

Now don't get me wrong I know you got a right
To say what you want and never apologize
You can protest all day and shout what you believe
But the rest of America has the right to kindly disagree

Hey Hollywood, we hear your message and it don't sound good
Your just running this country down with our troops overseas
Hey Hollywood, take a look around if you would
And if you don't love this land you're free to leave.

I'll even help you pack your bags if you want, if you wanna leave.
Hey Hollywood, stop running this country down.
Hey Hollywood.

That picture made me spit the beverage I was drinking all over my keyboard! Thanks!

I think that it was once reported that the majority of the people who paid the big bucks to see BStreisand were Republicans.

"semi-good looking. "

It's odd. I can't think of an actress that I find really beautiful. Nicole Kidman, kind of, but she's had a bit too much surgery.

As to the actors, virtually all look like the kids that got beat up in junior high for being pansies.

Given the current technology, the Bewitched remake could have been something to see; that is, if they had not come up with a stupid plot.

I saw Bewitched last week because it was a great tv show, but the movie was actually boring.

Not anymore. I use to love to hear her sing. Now it's like fingernails on a chalkboard.

I've picked up DVDs at the Salvation Army. Even they price them at premium.

Okay, $3-4, but that's compared to books, that go anywhere from 3-10 for a $1.

I recommend "Because of Winn Dixie." It should be coming out on video any day.

Netflix > All. I am also a new subscriber. I get a 1-2 day turn around and constantly have a new movie to watch. I can also buy used movies from them of the ones I really like.

Unfortunately there are a few actors regardless of how good they are at their craft, I cannot pay to see them because all I hear is "blah blah blah Bush is bad blah blah blah". I only go see the big visual movies at the movies now (Star Wars, Lord of the Rings). Bless the home theater system.

How true. Hollywood needs to realize that some of us don't idolize them past the point of common sense.

Case in point 'The Dixie Chicks'. Where are they now? They WERE the 'darlings' of country music now they are washed up. Natalie could have used a little common sense.

Sounds to me like you may have read Ben Shapiro's new book...or at least if you haven't, go give it a look-see.

Haven't read it, haven't heard of it, but thanks for the alert. I be on the lookout for it. ( what's the name of the book?)

I'll $pend my money taking my kids to Major League basball,... most ballparks are very family-FRiendly nowadays and you'd be suprised[maybe not] at how many people working for,or connected to Major League Baseball hold this country and its values close to their hearts,so ,",... Hollyweird , yer not even close!"

As ashamed of it as I am, I still can't help but love BAREFOOT IN THE PARK with Redford and Fonda. That movie just cracks me up every time. : )

What kind of surgery? She's too young for a facelift.

I suppose there are a lot of people like me out there who will not go see anything no matter how much hyped, with Babs, Alec Baldwin, Penn, Susan or Tim, and especially Redford, etc. etc. Not counting the queer Alexander crap. That really limits my movie going.

Not to throw a wet blanket on your post, but even back in the 'Golden Age' Hollywood had its share of subversives, although they were not as vocal and obnoxious as Susan Sarandon, Tim Robbins and Barbra Streisand...they were much more subtle in their support of communism, all in the name of fighting Nazism (I guess they failed to realize Communism and Fascism are first cousins).

"Red Star Over Hollywood: Tinseltown's Long Affair with the Left", published by Encounter Books, chronicles the secret meetings and front organizations put in place by the old Soviet Union through many actors, directors, and writers in the motion picture industry during the mid 1920s and throughout the early 1940s, when J. Edgar Hoover's FBI and Congress started catching up with them. What has manifested over the past twenty-five to thirty years--various celebrity pilgrimages to Cuba, anti-war protests-remember Hanoi Jane?-- had it genesis during that period

They are not just no story.

They are after the commercials I JUST PAID TO SEE, they are 90 minutes of subtle left wing cliche's which insult me and my nation.

With every hollywood movie made in the last 5 years there is the expectation of some political dig, some marriage dig or some other insult.

How many times have people on FR commented how 100% of all network father characters are idiots?

Remember the reaction of the British tabloid accusing 54% of the US of being idiots? Holyweird expects us to PAY for them to insult us.
