President Bush, with his wife, and daughter Jenna, is celebrating his 59th birthday in Denmark and Scotland before the G8 conference begins in Scotland.
Welcome to Sanity Island.
I remember a couple from our church who had a child move back in after they had 'adjusted' to being alone.
She said she had to remember not to walk down the hall in the altogether any more! (Maybe there are some habits it's best not to start......)
I don't think they made it inside, that looks urgent to me! :-)
Since C-Span has obviously decided to boycott the President's recent speeches and press conferences (e.g., the President's July 4 speech), you will find a transcript of today's press conference at

From one Rasmussen (the Prime Minister) to another (the pollster):
RASMUSSEN:
http://www.rasmussenreports.com/Bush_Job_Approval.htm
Wednesday July 06, 2005--Fifty-one percent (51%) of American adults approve of the way George W. Bush is performing his role as President. This is the first time his Approval Rating has topped 50% since June 10.
Job approval:
51% approve 48% disapprove
[Note: 1.) If Rasmussen used the more common 2-option approve/disapprove schemata (vs the 4-option), the President's job approval would increase to 53-54%; 2.) If Rasmussen polled 'likely voters' vs 'adults (as he did all of last year), the President's job approval would increase to 54-56%! Not too shabby!!!]
Reminder: The President's job approval ratings will continue to fluctuate for two reasons: 1.) it's summer ('summer' should be viewed as nothing more than an extended holiday period); 2.) 'it's the gas prices stupid' (a president's JA is always correlated with the public's perception of the economy; as long as gas prices continue to fluctuate, the uninformed will remain 'nervous')!
Fortunately, we don't need to concern ourselves with polls! Our president has already been re-elected . . . the rest, as they say, is history!!!

Bush daughter is said to volunteer in S. Africa
By John Donnelly, Globe Staff | July 6, 2005
CAPE TOWN -- At the Red Cross War Memorial Children's Hospital, children sit on their mothers' laps in waiting rooms, waddle down hallways, and wail inside the burn unit, where nurses carefully wrap gauze around their arms, legs, and heads.
It is here, say some doctors and nurses, that Barbara Bush, one of President Bush's twin daughters, has been working in near anonymity as a volunteer.
While no one disputes that she has been in Cape Town for the last six weeks, nearly everything about her stay is shrouded in mystery. Hospital officials yesterday refused to confirm her presence, and many hospital workers ducked questions about Barbara Bush's role at one of the premier health facilities in Africa for children with AIDS and other ailments.
A White House official, Peter Watkins, confirmed yesterday that her mother, Laura Bush, will visit Barbara in South Africa later this week, after the Group of Eight summit in Scotland where President Bush and other leaders of the industrialized world will consider how they can help ease poverty in Africa. The official said Laura Bush and her other daughter, Jenna, will spend five days with Barbara and then will travel to other African countries to speak about AIDS relief and education initiatives........
I think we can deduce from that kiss that they are still very much in love with each other, and that is the way it's supposed to be.......the way GOD made marriages to be!
Those thorns could be painful!
Rush had one reason for that. His speech on Iraq. Strong, positive, forceful. Good stuff!
(Eric listened to it on the Fourth.........his new MiL taped it for him. He LOVED it!)
I will stop now, in the interest of decorum :-)
"Warm was a euphemism, Mike. I just wonder what happened when they got inside!
(No.......I don't wonder. I know!)"
Thanks for posting our FAVORITE photo . . . My fans on and operating at maximum capacity!!
I burned 6 copies of the speech and sent them to patriciaruth so she can add them to her next care package for the Troops
I don't think they are that ready since neither of their daughters are married yet.
Ciraq probably didn't help his cause with those remarks. I could not be happier that London got it over Paris.
yes, that should be "fan's" on . . . getting tired!
"That hand reaching in was probably the hand of a Secret Service agent making his last attempt to separate them before they turned the water hose on them "
huh?
You and Ohio crack me up...and DrDeb too...lol I think we ALL know what went on once they got inside.
Give her time it was only today!!!! She'll get around to it.
"I burned 6 copies of the speech and sent them to patriciaruth so she can add them to her next care package for the Troops"
Great idea . . . If you have 2 more, I'd love to include them in packages I'm sending next week!
Never been able to eat frog legs. I keep imagining those poor little legless frogs pulling themselves around on a dolly.
He was and is. But in between acting, leaving and returning to acting he was a senator from Tennessee.
Not if they are going to make it to dinner!!!!
Let me see if I can copy the one I have again, I was gonna send more of them to Patti, but I was getting "Burn Process Failed" message over and over. I'll try to burn another copy now and let you know in a few minutes, (15 Min's Tops)
