An IDF force shot and killed a Palestinian gunman who opened fire at soldiers Wednesday evening near the Morag settlement in southern Gaza.

Palestinian sources say an additional militant was injured in the failed attack. There are no reported injuries among IDF troops.
West Bank interception
Earlier, the army arrested a 17-year-old Palestinian from the West Bank village of Kafin.
The teenager was carrying two improvised explosive devices and a knife, and was stopped at a checkpoint south west of Jenin.
The explosives were detonated through a controlled explosion, and the youth is being questioned by security forces.
IDF sources said that the teenager was stopped by a surprise checkpoint, set up by the army on the same road on which 28-year-old Yevgeny Raider was murdered in a terrorist attack.
Ongoing operation
Meanwhile, a Palestinian youth was wounded by IDF fire in the Balata refugee camp in Nablus, said Palestinian sources. According to these sources, a large military force is operating in the area, and there are ongoing clashes between soldiers and residents.
