We can pray that they really start to get the word out. I am still shocked and amazed at the level of ignorance of my fellow citizens.

I couldn't believe what I was hearing from Newsday's Ellis Henican last night on O'Reilly with John Kasich and Melanie Morgan. Talk about belittling someone...

They must be getting their news from the MSM.

It was horrible. The guy just flat out lied the whole segment, and when corrected, would just lie some more.

Are we going to have a daily thread - so we can be on top of what's being said and ... so we can rub it in the faces of the democrats ..??

Kasich had Ellis Henican and Melanie Morgan on. Henican blasted the trip as propaganda, and Kasich asked how he can say that when they haven't even left yet and not one word was written yet? Henican said that it was propaganda because the trip was paid for by the people being covered, and Morgan said that they're all paying their own way. Henican then said that Morgan wasn't a "journalist" and couldn't be trusted to follow journalistic practices, and Morgan said that she'd been a journalist for 30 years, won awards, and covered wars. Henican then used a pre-planned BBQ for the talk hosts as proof that they are bought, and Kasich told him that that was irrelevant.

Wasn't that pathetic ..? He was screaming and yelling that the govt was paying for this trip and it was nothing but propaganda.
I'm so glad they allowed Melanie to speak and tell that everybody is paying their own way - all the DJ's and the media outlets they work for. She said the only thing the govt is providing is transportation from Kuwait into Baghdad - I would presume by airplane. She said she has personally paid over $3,500 for the trip.
And .. ELLIS WAS LYING THROUGH HIS TEETH ABOUT IT AND SHOWED NOT A SMIGEN OF SHAME FOR MAKING UP SUCH A LIE .. disgusting!

I don't understand why Ellis Henican even cares. I believe non-journalists are permitted to go to Iraq and *gasp* tell what they see. And if it's propaganda, it's no less propagandistic than what RightTalk broadcasts the rest of the time. Sheesh, he should get a life.

Great idea! Also, we have a website at www.voicesofsoldiers.com that will act as a blogging portal for the hosts! Plus, schedules, itineraries, etc!

I know the Right complained when Sean Penn went to Baghdad, but that was mostly because he was Hollywood, not a journalist. Is the Left trying to retaliate by questioning the credentials of the Right talkers who are going on this trip?
If you really want an example of Leftist propaganda disguised as news, then what about when Leonardo DiCaprio "interviewed" President Clinton for ABC on Earth Day in 2000?
To: Political Junkie Too
Thanks. Ellis is an idiot who isn't going to wake up to the fact that a lot of American's are fed up with a liberal slant in news. He could be standing in an unemployment line ans still be spouting off that it was a Neo-con conspiracy.

As I recall, he got some grudging acceptance for actually going. He went in December 2002, before the invasion, while Saddam was still in power.
