I just hope the folks listening to the testimony are getting the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. But knowing this bunch, I'd doubt it.

Why can't they speak? Plenty of people spoke from the steps of the courthouse during the Clinton Grand Jury.

I can't picture either Miller or Cooper going to great lengths to protect a GOP source, particularly one close to POTUS.
But I can picture them going to the mat for Joe Wilson if it were he who told them his wife was a CIA insider so he could get the gig writing an op-ed about his trip.

Everybodys showing glee here but this could kick one of our guys in the @$$You have it backwards. The media and dems have used this trumped up story to kick our guys and it's time for the truth to be laid out.

So Thielmann was a disgruntled State Dept employee with a grudge against the Bush Administration.
This is indeed getting interesting.

Why doesn't someone go to Miller or Cooper and say, "Were either Cheney or Bush or Rumsfeld or Rove or Rice or Powell or Scooter What's-His-Name your source?" Saying who your source wasn't isn't the same as saying who it was. They could at least clear some people who've been falsely accused of being the leaker.

Why can't they speak? Plenty of people spoke from the steps of the courthouse during the Clinton Grand Jury. "Legally" .. I don't think the can discuss the case .. only metion what they said
But that has never stopped leaks being printed in the press before
It's interesting that not many leaks from the grand jury have come out ... or maybe they are just not being reported

It could be Powell. It could be Thielmann. I would not be surprised if either one were the leaker. If it is somebody else, it will be very interesting.

you see how these guys spin? hey, was Shep ever prosecuted for running that woman over in that parking lot in florida?
To: Steve_Seattle
To be clear...there is not just one source, so I threw out Thielmann as a possible player in the story with a link to State.
I at no time said I suspected he was "THE" (I don't believe that's what we're dealing with here anyway) source.
As to a contender for a source that would rate a description as a "senior administration official" who was there at the time and in a position to know, I do have a guess: Alan Foley at the CIA? Plame's boss. He stepped down in September 2003. Wilson's column was July 6 and Novak's column July 14.
To: mewzilla
Miller wasn't even writing about the Plame case. My guess is that Miller was just talking to the same source, maybe had discussions about Plame or Wilson, but that wasn't her main interest.

Hi...just got here and I see all hell is breaking loose...huricanes, Fred Thompson, Miller in jail, etc.
I happened to hear Shep's absolutely clueless exchange with Brit Hume. This is something to keep in mind whenever Shep is in charge of a breaking story.
He is a complete dimwit, unless covering car chases. Brit Hume must have made a bee-line to the local pub after realizing how stupid the Fox anchor for prim-time is.
To: Mo1
Any leaks are carefully crafted (in legal mumbo jumbo) as to not divulge the actual testimony because the witness can be held liable by the grand jury.
