I have neighbors, a couple of them, amputees in wheelchairs due to diabetes (one with both legs gone), and I see more rolling through the grocery and drugstores. I'm sure if I asked them if they would've rather died than have their legs amputated, they would NOT say yes. They have families, feelings, good days, bad days ..just like all of us. They have a LIFE, and their families are happy to still have them in theirs. They deal with their issues and lot in life. The double amputee, she's smiling and cheerful whenever I see her.

Common sense tells us that most parents hold any child of theirs (no matter how young or adult) so close and so tenderly to their heart, that if directly put on the spot and interrogated with many hypothetical scenarios, would say, "Yes ... absolutely ..I would do everything to save my child." Do you know any parents questioned hypothetically like this who wouldn't?

I don't think KDD gets it. I would do just about anything to save my child.

Funny also is that most people want to live, not die and if faced with losing a limb so that they can live most choose to lose the limb.
