2008 presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton has failed in her first major foreign initiative - a high profile bid to bring the 2012 Olympic games to New York City.
Hours before this morning's announcement that London would host the 2012 games, Clinton was pulling out all the stops to bring the sports extravaganza to her constituents back home.
Mrs. Clinton told reporters in Singapore, where the Olympic committee was meeting, that the Big Apple "exemplifies Olympic values every single day. Living in New York is like living in an Olympic Village - you have every language from every corner of the globe." While New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg headed up the U.S. delegation, and former boxing great Muhammad Ali joined in the effort - it was Mrs. Clinton, whose global popularity has been heralded in the world's media, who was the clear star of the U.S. team.
In comments to the Associated Press, she noted that the Summer Games have never been held in New York.
"We have lived the Olympics, now I'd like for us to have a chance to host the Olympics," she said.
In arguments before the committee, the former first lady even invoked the specter of the 9/11 attacks:
"We're standing here a little less than four years from the time when we were attacked and we're telling you that New York City is the place to bring the 2012 Olympics because people of New York are resilient," she insisted. "They're extraordinary in their capacity to pull together and plan for the future."
Before this morning's announcement, the AP called Mrs. Clinton "the top political heavyweight for New York's [Olympic] delegation."
But now that she's failed to come through, don't look for the press to spend much time dwelling on what went wrong.
Sound familiar?
Does that mean there are smarter people than the "smartest woman in the world?"
Another fine accomplishment by Hillary for New York!!
(Insert howls of derisive laughter here)
We'll just put this in our back pocket and the next time a Liberal hypocrite Moron like hitlery or other pathetic lib, says President Bush can't mention 9/11, we'll trump out her little statement.
Bush Endorses New York's Olympics Bid
WASHINGTON (AP) - President Bush is endorsing New York City's bid to host the 2012 Summer Olympics. The president taped a minute-long video message last week boosting the bid, White House spokeswoman Dana Perino said Wednesday. An International Olympic Committee group evaluating five bids for the games is visiting New York this week.

I'm thinking 'The Hitlery Shuffle'.
It would be played on a field divided into three sectors: Left, Middle and Right.
The object of the game is to try to be in all sectors at once.
The rules are plentiful, however, the rules, can only be defined by those playing in the left sector and only apply to those playing in the left sector.
Tom Brokow will call the play by play and Dan Rather will be the color man. (Honesty and unbiased reporting are not prerequisites for either of these two positions)
"Does that mean there are smarter people than the 'smartest woman in the world?'"
No .. I think it means - CELEBRITY - is worthless.
Ping for later read.
"But now that she's failed to come through, don't look for the press to spend much time dwelling on what went wrong."
If it was a Republican - it would be front page news. But since it's a "failure" of Hillary's - it will be buried.
However, it does bode well for repubs who can use JUST ONE MORE FAILURE OF HILLARY = no healthcare; no Olympics. It doesn't make her look like presidential material.

That was a rhetorical, sarcasm laced question, and I agree, but the mythology of her "extraordinary intelligence" is part of her celebrity.
And celebrity, even that derived from the coattails of her husband, is one of the few things that got her into office. Well, that and a lot of truly ignorant liberals in NY.
I am pretty sure that "ignorant liberal" redundant. ;-)
... the mythology of her 'extraordinary intelligence' is part of her celebrity."
And I repeat: "I think it means - CELEBRITY - is worthless."
And I repeat: so called "intelligence" is similarly worthless, in all senses of the term in her case.
