Thank goodness London got the games. I just couldn't stomach an Olympic medal bearing a Fleur-de-lis.

The Frog circle-jump continues.

Guess what? London also has a nonsmoking ban to take effect this year.

What?! They're going to ban nonsmokers! Guess I'll have to learn to light up.....

The one area NYC leads Moscow is airports. Moscow has a slew of them but all of them are still too small and far from town to be useful for the Olmpics (a problem not fixed since the last time it made the Olympics difficult while being hosted in Moscow. Still I think I'd be really interesting to see the Olympics in non-soviet Russia.

I see the final round of voting was between London and Paris. The other candidate cities had been eliminated in earlier rounds of voting.

Jacques Chirac, the Rodney Dangerfield of French politics.

Guess it's time I got my butt over to Great Britain and spent some money. It'll be my donation to the Olympic fund.

Yeah, maybe the dollar will be back up against the European currencies by then......which in England, I suspect, will still be sterling.

I actually completely favor the smoking bans. It's juvenile to whine you can't go making everyone else smell like smoke just to get your fix.

Congratulations! Bernie Goldberg was on Fox & Friends a short while ago and said he was very happy because a whole bunch of people in Paris were very sad. I cracked up!

I saw Bernie on F&F too and his remark was hysterical! I'm hoping to buy his book today too (I believe it's called 100 People That Hurt America).

Yes, he even looks like Rodney Dangerfield.

Good thing Rodney's passed on -- he'd hate to be mistaken for Jacques Chirac. That'd be a new low.

I see. So what are you planning to tell the beer-drinkers who are unlucky enough to get in line behind the Australians at the party at Ivan's place, before the Pilseners and Bavarians get there with their ambulances loaded down with relief barrels?

Good to see you back, Ivan! London was the city I was pulling for......Tony Blair needs an "atta boy" instead of Chirac or worse, Hillary Clinton......

Frog cornish pasties?

I'm a Cornish pastie aficionado. Where does the Frog fit in here?

If NYC can't have it, London works for me.

None of us New Yorkers even wanted the damn thing.

Yes, I'm fairly sure our friends in Eastern Europe contributed to this victory.
