MEXICO CITY (AFP) - A 25-year-old woman in the Mexican city of Monterrey gave birth to sextuplets, a local hospital said.
The six children were delivered by Caesarean section and were well, said Maria Elena Vazquez of the Center of Gynecology and Obstetrics of Monterrey.
The smaller children "are in intermediate care to gain weight and will remain there between five and seven weeks,: she said.
The parents, from Guadeloupe Nuevo Leon, are worried and "somewhat incredulous," Vazquez said.
The mother has not previously had children, and the father is a 27-year-old sales representative.
Ay carumba!
thank goodness she didn't cross our border to have them
She didn`t need to, the kids will anyway.
well at least they are not all automatic US citizens by virtue of have been born on US soil....
There needs be modification to that provision.
Pheeeeew!!! I was worried for a second there. I was scared that the little tikes popped out at County/USC or something and we'd be stuck paying for 'em for the next 90 years.
Dad is going to have to be "salesman of the year" for the next two decades! Hope they have lots of family support.
Mexico doesn't have enough mouths that it can't already feed. Let's give them all fertility drugs to help with their already swollen populace.
