I thought Lawerence O'Donnel was the only outsider who is in the know.

When O'Donnel came out early and named Rove you could be confident it wasn't. They want to get as much mileage as they can before the story collapses. Then they will move on as if nothing was ever said. Same with the DeLay accusations except they may have caught some of their own fish in the net. Downing Street memo, same. Bush TNG records.
