Laura Ingraham tells Bush, “No, You tone it down” tonight on her radio show
7-5-2005

Posted on 07/05/2005 9:37:54 PM PDT by Brian_Baldwin

Tone what down, Mr. Bush? Who are you talking to?

To conservatives?

I think he is.

And I think Laura Ingraham, thinks he is, too.

And, proud of God Knows What, he slighted the conservatives who are suppose to sit around and watch their hair turn white as year after year after year after year betrayal, and now having given so much to put the Republicans and the Bush family BACK in power, who believed the oath Bush gave to church leaders, to conservative leaders, in back door meetings, when lots of money exchanged hands, and money from common people hard earned, and who told the common people all over this nation that he will fight to put a conservative on the bench, and now this from Mr. Peepers he tells us to “tone it down”? Laura Ingraham told Bush tonight, no YOU Bush, you tone it down. Don’t hush us. You hush. You listen. The House, The Senate, The White House, years and years in the making, and now it’s all yours, conservatives who ground down for you, and when it is time, you tell us to tone it down? Squander another 20 years?

Oh, I see. Really. Well, maybe you tone it down Mr. President, or perhaps as some are now calling you Mr. Peepers. Or should I be more respectful?

You tone it down when you talk to conservatives about this vital issue, this nomination to the Court. You better listen. If you told us a lie, you are going to really see who can make hell regarding “Bush Lied”, and it won’t be coming from the Left who are going to make you eat your own words.

You come to the conservatives, to the heroes, to the Patriots, willingly this time. That is more than just good advice, it's real good advice. Respect your family? You respect our families, and everything they have done for you. Your friends? Your loyalties? Who has been your friend, and gave you loyalty? You now need to respect our families, our loyalties. But if you will not approach my friends, my conservatives, with affection, of your own free will, you can take your family and your loyalty to your friends (in power) and you can sit and ride a dead horse right to where you are going, Mr. President.

Don’t you tell me about how the illegal aliens “do the work”, the work that Americans “won’t do”. Don’t you tell me what I would do or not do to support my family. How dare you. And you don’t tell us to tone it down. How dare you, again. Not this time.

Ugly words? You haven’t even heard it yet.

It's not clear to me what these "over-the-top tactics" are. Are they trashing Gonzales' character? I haven't seen this. I've seen reasoned points about why we couldn't count on him being a strong conservative on the Court.

LOL. Surely you jest. Much of it has been outright hysteria and insults. And it isn't just against Gonzales but against Bush himself. If you stand by your statement, explain how something like "Mr. Peepers" is a "reasoned point."

If you think that's "over-the-top," I'm sure glad you aren't in public office, or running a campaign for us.

It is telling of the weakness of your argument that you decide to bring my personal history into the discussion, which has absolutely nothing to do with this topic...but anyway I've helped run a number of campaigns, all of which have been successful - and they were hotly contested. I would dare say my experience in these matters is much greater than yours, so save such insults for someone else.

Yeah he may not get re-elected. If you tough guys get his back up he will rub your noses in it.

No, but many other Republicans will fall.

Are you SURE you aren't really a Democrat trying to egg us on to our own immolation? Because that is the only thing that would explain your combative and suicidal urgings.

LOL. Little Laz talks about combative. Go write an ode to your underwear. You were in your element back then.

LOL. How old are you?

Probably not old enough to have senile dementia.

How old, on the other hand, are you?

Wheel yourself back to the nursing station. It's clear you skipped tonight's meds.

Do you REALLY want to get into a discussion about "meds" Laz? You have quite a history with them.

"You are everything I utterly despise"

O my life is over, little Laz is mad at me.

I said I despise what you stand for. I did not say that I am angry at you.

I note you didn't deny your liberalism. That is wise.

But you might want to update your profile to embrace your true philosophy.

Sure.

After all, I've discontinued abuse of mine.

Unlike you.

60.

Pity about the advanced state of your degeneration, then. I'll pray for you.

Ya know... We could possibly wait for the President to make a nomination before we start threatening him. Have some faith. He will nominate a conservative.

They say that one starts life as a chile, goes through adulthood, then regresses to childhood again.

All you have to offer me is liberalism and the associated childlike taunts.

I've returned a few, but you bore me as unchallenging tonight. Good night, Liberalforever.

So is it also your opinion the border problems have not escalated in the past 25 years or so?

I would say that our perceptions of events in and around the border have escalated and been heightened.

Oh, OK so our perceptions have escalated.

I'm a new guy here, but I must say, it sure has been an education.

We may have been talking past each other, Wildcat.

I was referring to the public comments made by various writers and conservative organizations -- in other words, comments that Bush would be aware of and would have been responding (I think overreacting) to. I don't see that THOSE were over-the-top. I didn't mean to say that all the anti-Gonzales, let alone anti-Bush comments on FReep were reasonable. I'm sure many were not.

I remember the pic of Laura on the cover of the NYTimes Magazine

How did her legs look in that leopard mini skirt? I think she's pretty cute, I'd love to get ahold of that picture.

Whose ever they are, they are all sound and fury, no though, no logic, baseless, and nonsense.\

Most of the words are from Brian Baldwin (Ingraham didn't refer to Bush as "Mr. Peepers"), but they definitely reflect the same tone and spirit that Ingraham -- a former law clerk for Clarence Thomas -- displayed Tuesday morning.

It was Ingraham who led the charge nationwide against reflexively reinstalling RINOsaur Arlen Specter as Senate Judiciary Chairman after he spit in Bush's eye regarding the upcoming SCOTUS nominees mere hours after they were both re-elected. Specter offered a half-fast reassurance that he wouldn't be a roadblock, and Frist cleared the way for him to be in charge. Later, when wishy-washy Sandra Day O'Connor (she couldn't dare overturn Roe v. Wade, but had no problem flip-flopping her own majority vote on Bowers vs. Hardwick based on other countries' laws) announced she was retiring, TWO DAYS LATER Specter sat alongside Ted Kennedy (D-Chappaquiddick) on national television and joined him in urinating on the remains of the Robert Bork nomination!

Now, on top of that, President Bush, who campaigned saying he would nominate for SCOTUS jurists in the tradition of Scalia and Thomas, gets all huffy when true believers say forthrightly and truthfully that Alberto Gonzales -- whom Bush didn't fight for when he was nominated for a judgeship -- doesn't fit that bill? I don't care if he's President; if he is going back on a campaign promise, he's going to get what's coming to him just like his father did!

What Ingraham has been saying for the past two days is that the President has no business telling people who wrote checks to him and pounded the pavement for him during the '04 campaign for the express purpose of halting the trend toward judicial superlegislature to "tone it down" because he 'doesn't like it when someone criticizes his friends.' What could be more lame than that?

The only "nonsense" is coming from people who think that Bush has earned the benefit of the doubt. Wake up and smell the Chafee people! Bush is NOT a demigod! He isn't infallible! And when he's about to make a mistake that will last for decades, set aside your reverence and speak the truth!

Laura looks like Ann Coulter's aerobic instructor sister. Too lean for my aesthetic tastes (just like Ann), but undoubtedly fit as a fiddle. That someone as healthy as Laura could get breast cancer should be a wake up call for all women.
