did you read this article? And do believe Scripture to be Truth? IF you read the article--and IF you believe the Biblical Truths then your answer needs be re-thought and expressed in better terms.
First, I read the article, and that article, like almost everything else on the planet, is subject to interpretation. My personal interpretation is to brush it aside, I don't need to use God to justify my political beliefs. I believe in God, I go to church, but I can make arguments for my conservative beliefs without relying on scripture to do it.
I'm a Catholic, I believe that the word is divinely inspired, and that there is a truth, however, I don't believe you can read all of it the way you'd read a newswire.
First of all, no man can define what 7 days actually means. Just because 7 days means one thing to us, it doesn't mean it means the same thing to God, when taken in the Genesis mold. Who are we as mortals to say that the 7 days were 7 24 hour periods concurrent that had sunrises and sunfalls. Man cannot dictate what God does, or did. And you blaspheme God when you use his name to justify your political decision.
Politics is at it's roots, not the work of God, it is the work of man, it is flawed. You sully God when you try to bring him into what has always been a defiled and corrupt enterprise.
