With the recent shark attacks in Florida, you would think people would be doing everything they can to stay away from the animals, but lots of Florida divers are actually going out with the sole purpose of running into sharks.
Four miles off Jupiter's coast and 80 feet below the surface, a feared species gaining national attention swarms.
Randy Jordan works at the Jupiter Dive Center, "For some reason this summer we have seen more sharks it's unbelievable the amount of sharks we've seen, more than ever before."
Divers noticing this new trend are making their way closer to area reefs for a thrill.
Experts speculate higher breeding and a higher food supply like bait fish are the attractions. But little more is known about why the species consisting of bulls, hammerheads and reefs sharks are flocking, "When you can see shark hammerhead or bull and you can swim, they're more afraid us than you are of them. It's thrilling."
And it's a thrill that has hundreds of South Florida divers dropping in on this rare occurrence, one where up close encounters are common, leaving a lasting impression.
While millions fear them, divers are moving in on them, and in South Florida it is creating a summer stir that has dive trips booked solid.
now that's funny.
The middle one with the surf board is real.
Are you for real?
"Divers noticing this new trend are making their way closer to area reefs for a thrill."
Sooner or later on of 'em's gonna get the thrill of a lifetime...
It's not a shark.
They all look fake. However have seen the one with the shark in the curl of the wave and surfboard before. So tell us which is the real picture?
Now you're talking! Never had bull or hammerhead but there's still a summer's supply of mako steaks in the freezer. Got a swap deal with a friend in Washington- Mako for Salmon, pound for pound. Works great.
You left out fire ants.
The more humans they come into contact with, attack and eat the more emboldend they will become...
Without predation of them from man...they will increase in numbers and step up their attacks
Humans need to start 'bang sticking' the shark types that prey on human children..
You mean the Giant fly into your face when you try to wack them Cockroach.
My husband was diving for lobster some years back. As he was surfacing with a dive bag that had some lobster and a barracuda a shark decided that lobster and barracuda was a great dinner. Unfortunately my husband was bitten and lost part of his pinky finger. He told me that he walked on water that day.
.....Most Shark tastes like urine as sharks urinate through their skins;.....

They're hard to see, as in Clasper the Friendly Ghost

I moved into Overtown (Miami) for a while and we had mice and palmetto bugs.
(It was a dump, we were crack heads)
I got so tired of the mice waking us up at night that I would leave out doritos so they would get them and just go back into their holes.
I woke up one night and heard some activity next to my bed and looked down and saw a mouse on one end of dorito and a palmetto bug on the other end having a tug of war. They were fighting over it.
I decided it was time to move back to Miami Beach.
...."Experts speculate higher breeding and a higher food supply like bait fish are the attractions. ".....
What this may be telling us is that the net ban has given
fish stocks a real chance at recovery, and bait (mullet etc.) have made a real comeback.
I hope so.
I sure hope that some day, oil rigs cover the coasts of
florida like they do in Texas, La, they look like money
on the horizon and the fishing is GREAT!
