Sucks to get caught hacking. Not only is your ass in a legal wringer, you look like a not-very-good hacker to all your hacker friends.

It also sucks that Protest Warrior had to spend all this money and time tracking down this slimebag, hiring security experts, and retooling its server. That's why I have no sympathy even for the teenage "joy-riding" hackers who just do it for "fun." It isn't fun if you're the one being hacked and if you're the one whose personal information has just gotten spread all over the Internet.

Yep! Besides, even though he did not use the #'s, are we to just take his word for it that he hasn't leaked them to his buds? I am also sure the folks who's numbers were stored on the site had to get new cards. This is no small expense to the issuers. They will also hav to monitor their credit reports for quite some time. No crime indeed!

I do dispise hackers. I have had servers hacked more than once and it just drives you nuts! If he is guilty, I hope the bring him down hard.

Off topic, but I just came back from a quick trip to Asheville, NC for a wedding. I never realized how wacko that town is with every type of weirdo possible! I should start an Asheville NC thread...
