What exactly was Protest Warrior doing keeping credit card numbers? And why were they on their web server? They certainly shouldn't have kept the info on a machine that could be so easily compromised.
IMHO, this shows some basic lack of understanding of computer security.
The hacker should get nailed to the wall, but the incident doesn't reflect too well on PW, either.
Bump for a later read.
"The reason we're posting this now is that Jeremy, in a desperate move, is publicly appealing to the internet community regarding his pending FBI investigation. Using his site www.freejeremy. com, he is trying to solicit donations for his defense fund and generate public sympathy while spreading slanderous disinformation regarding ProtestWarrior and the events leading up to the FBI investigation."
Anyone who would donate to someone who steals credit card numbers is a f***ing moron and deserves the maxed-out cards he gets...
Bump for later read.
Wait until Tyrone gets ahold of his young sweet ass in prison.
Seems to me that both conspiracy and the RICO statutes also apply.
Trapping and punishing hackers has to be one of the most rewarding feelings in the world today. I hope a book is written about this incident.
Normal person game-plan:
1) establish realistic goal.
2) devise strategem to accomplish goal.
3) analyse success of failure of strategem and reasons therefore. Adjust strategy appropriately.
Moonbat game-plan:
1) establish ludicrously ambitious, poorly-defined goal (e.g global socialist revolution, elimination of "patriarchy" / "globalisation" / some other nebulous boogyman).
2) demand this happen instantly (REVOLUTION NOT EVOLUTION!)and that it must be achieved by dIrEcT RaD1CaL AcT10N!
3) alienate the $#!+ out of everybody while berating their lack of revolutionary commitment.
4) fail spectacularly. Throw a spazz.
5) invent convoluted conspiracy theories to explain failure.
6) set even more militant and unrealistic goals.
7) go to step (2).
Time to make hacking into a PC the same charge as breaking and entering.
Hey look - DUmmie Stephenson signed the petition!
"DUmmie Stephenson, DUmmieLand Please donate to Andy Stephenson in stead of this guy. DUmmies 4EVER"
Shameless!!!

His website is is hosted by giznet.com.
E-mail them to tell him he is violating his TOS by defending his hacker attacks using their webspace:

This jackoff also has militaryoffcampus.com and other sites registered to his name. This guy is worthy of jail.
BTTT
Is Belly Girl OK? She can stay over at my place until its safe again. I'd love to keep her company.
>>removed all sensitive information from the server. We eventually moved the server to a new box, where we blocked off the system and data files from the web server and changed the online store software to a super- secure system that stores zero sensitive customer information<<
Forgive me for throwing salt in an open wound, but why the hell didn't you do this in the first place? I've built small time networks for my home and office, and even though I don't host a web site through the network, if I did, the first thing I would do is have a different web host box (server) than anything else. Hell, I have a gateway/router/firewall box on each of the networks, and there's nothing that runs on those machine except that. File servers are in other boxes -- one of which I seem to be having a power supply problem at the moment.
Haha, his petition has been thoroughly destroyed since PW sent their email out and this got posted.
If Jeremy goes to jail (and I hope he does) I'm sure the other inmates will want to get into his website.
Authorities jumped the gun. They should have let him use a credit card first. Now, since not a penny was charged, he'll avoid prison time.
PS - I seemed to have dropped my soap, would you pick it up for me?
