...Or for that mater any conspiracy crime. But I tend to believe that he committed an actual crime here. If I left my back door open and you found out, came in and wrote down all my account numbers from my checkbook, whether you charged against my account or not has nothing to do with the fact that you invaded my home. Same should be said for servers. Finding an exploit is not an invitation to invade another's privacy.
If this is the same Jeremy maybe he won't mind getting gangbanged in the slammer. Who knows.

This goes way beyond simple hacking.
He calls himself a Political Hacktivist, for God's sakes. That doesn't sound like some innocent guy with no agenda other than the pursuit of knowledge.
They have way to much information about the overall plans for all this pilfered information.

If I'd pulled something like this, my dad would've done far worse to me than the cops ever could.
Right after I got my first car, I got a speeding ticket at a highway speed trap.
It didn't matter that I was 4 mph over the limit only because I was passing a semi *and* that I [stupidly and obediently] pulled over for the trooper even though he'd actually been waving somebody *else* over, *I* still got the ticket.
I was terrified to go home that night.
It was the first time I ever "broke the law" and I felt like such a felon.
Luckily, the folks understood and I paid the fine and that was it.
