There's really no need for the attitude you are displaying not just to me but other posters. Tell me who is an expert on this case - you? Greta? The Aruban newspaper guy? A lot of people are discussing this but NONE of us know what really happened, save for the victim and the criminal(s). So take a breath and let everyone else discuss this like you do, regardless of opinion, which is all we have here at this point.

She thought she was in a cab. You've taken everything else out of context. There is nothing to support she went anywhere willingly with any "strange guys". Post your "source". You're so far behind...

Oh, but endless specualtion and accusations DO reflect well on anyone? There have been some of the wildest things posted on this topic, many with no basis in fact. I ignore those for the most part, just as you are free to ignore my posts.

"C. CROES: Well, I have a sail rental company." Typo or shall I say an error in the rushed transcript. We caught that and corrected it when we originally copied and pasted it on FR.

just FYI, comments such as your's sound very much like someone saying that a woman wearing a short skirt or lowcut blouse made her more prone to getting raped.

What do I think happened? I have no idea and I won't speculate or try to play the role of crime detective, international law expert, or sooth-sayer. I will say I believe she is dead and was by the time she was discovered missing. I think Joran had something to do with it, and I don't know if it was intentional or not.
I feel for her mom, who is a strong, determined woman, who must have come to the conclusion that her daughter is gone. How she is going to live with that, I can't imagine.

So you recommend attractive teenage girls going to nightclubs in foreign lands with no real supervision or support? Or are you just attempting to change the subject to try and make me look like I support rape? FYI
To: over3Owithabrain
no, i am merely saying you sound like you are trying to blame the victim. like i said, i wouldn't let my kid go on such a trip, her mom did. she is missing and so now what? let's rag on her for letting it happen?

I feel that when I was their age, I was just as naive and trusting. Sure, it was a very long time ago, but I think coming from loving families and nice suuroundings, you just aren't street smart. You trust.
That theory doesn't quite wash if you look at the crime statistics for Jefferson Cty...94 murders & 318 rapes reported in 2000.

That's funny. Do you know how many times on this thread something has been breathlessly reposrted as fact only to be bogus, unproven, etc? Same with FoxNews, Dutch translated rumors, flymonkey website or whatever, etc. I'm not the one wanting people convicted of a crime that has yet to be found or proven or claiming to "know" there is a coverup and what happened. I don't know what happened to Natalee and you don't either. The only thing I'm sure of is she was put in a risky situation to begin with.

I suppose I should feel grateful that I don't understand people who like to act 'holier than thou' regarding the Natalee Holloway tragedy. I must keep reminding myself that just like flies, we've got to put up with them.

Looks like the only solution is the silent treatment.

Here is a link to the whole Ben King story (in case you haven't already seen it):Thanks Dark Skies, I read that one. I'm digging for some other dirt. I'm wondering if this is Shango's Dirty Hand.
I was following something on SM last night that was referencing terrorist funding out of that Sodom and Gomorrah. But it is going to take time due to what is left on google (it has been being taken off)and plus it has to be translated.

I agree. Beth is one determined mom. My instincts say Natalee is gone....and Joran knows what happened. UNLESS, he really is telling the truth and he just left her alone on the beach and something else happened to her. Natalees family knows something that makes them adament that Joran, PVDS and the Kalpoes are responsible, though. My inquisitive mind would love to know what that is!!

Oh please! I have stressed in many a post how her being in a bad situation did not merit what happened to her. No one is blaming the victim for the actual crime. The fact is the idea that others shouldn't model this behavior really has not been discussed much anywhere, certainly not on the public airwaves. And it is obviously not welcome here with some. The harsh truth is if this happened at some hip-hop club in the Philly hood most of the Natalee-obsessed here would shrug it off as "that's the lifestyle there", and "girls shouldn't hang around those places".
To: Trust but Verify
It's central to the whole case. If there is such widespread crime and corruption, why aren't there people crawling out of the woodwork to say, "The same thing happened to me!". It's because the place is no more dangerous or corrupt than anyplace else, but you have to be careful when you travel and her (and others, like chaperones) decision-making process broke down and it resulted in a terrible tragedy.
Please tell us about the last time you were raped on the last night of your vacation? Aruba is wild, very wild. One of my classmates at KU was from there, and he told stories about their wild beach parties, rinking, and seducing the tourists. He made it very clear to me he never took no from any woman.

You overlooked the comments about lobing missles to Aruba & using Daisy Cutters on the island. BTW, your comments have added some much needed dimension to the monologue. :)
