In his rush to lionize Durbin he forgot to hold to the truth. The fact is, that quite the opposite of warning of impending Nazi-like events Durbin has, by his comparison of ZERO deaths in Gitmo to the approximate 9 MILLION deaths at the hands of Hitler, Stalin and Pol Pot he has diminished, and even implied such deaths have not occurred. It's a well known axiom that those who forget history are doomed to repeat it...Well, Durbin and the democrat party has forgotten the horrors of Auschwitz, Buchenwald and the Killing Fields. By virtue of the left's lost sight of history that the left will be the force pushing for totalitarian regimes...just consider the results of what happens when concepts such as big government and the "it takes a village" mentality take over. Individual freedoms become inconvenient to the smooth function of that big government the left so desperately desires.
