City's bid leaders praise her decision to join the
delegation for Wednesday's vote by the International Olympic Committee.
NEW YORK - Other cities are bringing presidents, prime
ministers and royalty to Singapore in hopes of landing
the 2012 Olympics. New York is bringing Hillary Rodham
Clinton.
The city's bid leaders praised the decision by the New
York senator and former first lady to join the delegation
for Wednesday's vote by the International Olympic Committee.
"I think there is no question that everyone here will
know who she is," said Dan Doctoroff, the bid chief and
deputy mayor. "All over the world, she is perceived as a
real leader in the world, someone who is admired around
the world."
New York is competing against four other world-class
cities -- front-runner Paris, London, Madrid and Moscow,
all to be represented by heads of state or government in
Singapore.
Paris will have French President Jacques Chirac in its
corner; British Prime Minister Tony Blair will stump for
London; Queen Sofia and Prime Minister Jose Luis
Rodriguez Zapatero will lobby for Madrid; and Prime
Minister Mikhail Fradkov will push for Moscow.
President Bush will appear in a taped video message in
Wednesday's final presentations to the IOC.
..."She has always been a passionate believer of the
Olympic movement and sees in the Olympic movement a
reflection of New York," Doctoroff said.

Just like Bill Clinton took the credit for what Newt Gingrich's "Contract With America" did to balance the budget.
Hillary likes to remind us that George W. Bush came to Washington saying he would be a "uniter not a divider" as she blames him for every partisan battle in Washington..... BUT who was it that went to the Senate Floor demanding to know "What did Bush know.. and When did he Kn ow it?" as she waived her copy of the New York Post that had a Headline that read "BUSH KNEW" ??????

Ah geez, I hate to be put in situations like this. But, if this is true, then I'm gonna' have to root for Paris.
Don't worry, the fix is in for Paris already. It will be the third time following 1900 and 1924. The USA has had it four times, more than any other country.

I thought I'd never say this since my heart has gone out to NYC for the last almost 4 years. Nuttin' I wouldn't have done to see her come back better than ever.........but I'm with you. If they choose HER as a representative, HER whose administration (along with Bubba of course) should be thought of as guilty as sin for 911, I'd be pulling for ANY ONE other than NYC!
NYC DESERVES the Olymics - another major money losing proposition for all those Hillary lovers. Look how Greece 'benefited' - I don't think any venue has had a net financial benefit since LA when the Olympic Committee scammed free labor and materials from local workers and got lots of free services in donations from local big business.
The olympics is a "UN for atheletes"....in my very humble opinion. My heart goes out for the people of NY who lost loved ones.......not the city government. That's why I said what I did..........but then again I suppose they've been swept under the rug. The passing of time tends to do that.
