Oh yeah, you're right. Reeves was one of the deputies they sent after Indians and Coloreds---whom also had their fair proportion of dangerous desperadoes.
I can't claim any extensive knowledge of the criminal history of the era but have been a bit interested since a great aunt was a US deputy marshall out of the Tulsa district--a bit later--and her mother, my great grandmother was the first woman criminal court clerk in her region in the late 19th century.
