This title should be ," Perverts gather in Canada to get a written approval for their perversion ".

Well, whatever. The only test has been Dutch, and although there were a number of so-called marriages at first, once allowed, the numbers declined quickly. I expect it will be the same in Canadia.

How could they get divorced in the US? I don't know ... that's why I asked.

What is goes too frequently unrecognized is that we do no one any favor by approving of that which should not be approved. The devastation of AIDS would never occurred had homosexuality not gained approval-- that approval encouraged a frequency of homosexual activity and level of promiscuity unimagined in previous generations.

So their property-division issues (for example) would have the same status as any two people who used to live together?

The problem I can see occurring is two Native Massachusetts residents who enter into a same sex marriage, which would be legal in Mass., moving to a state that denies same sex marriage. The legal attack could be indirect, suing for marrried couple benefits for health benefits on the job, possibly for tax status as a married couple.

The legal attack could be indirect, suing for married couple benefits for health benefits on the job, possibly for tax status as a married couple; or direct, a Federal suit seeking to enforce Massachusetts' marital recognition on the host state under the doctrine of full faith and credit. Thus the spate of Defense of Marriage laws.

Me too. I hope they apply for canadian citizenship as well as the illegal immigrants and stay there. Let the canadian court and health system take care of them

Good point! The federal Defense of Marriage act was supposed to prevent that but if it goes before the Supreme Court, who the heck knows what they'll decide...

Maybe we should give gays and illegals free plane tickets to Canada.
