Fortunately, the publishers of the two newspapers most popular in town are conservative; otherwise that letter never would have seen the light of day.

What I cannot get over is the press just acting as mouthpieces for the DNC. They have become mere stenographers and let the most outrageous, contradictory, hypocritical comments go by unchallenged.

The overall tone of the Dem response since the retirement announcement seems one of desperation, almost apnic. I think they know exactly the kind of nominee that Bush will submit, and they also know that Frist will be able to go nuclear if the Dems oppose..

After writing for one paper or another for over 30 years I sadly have to agree with you.

The bigger the paper the worse the bias. They no longer can just "report" but have to "spin" their way through each and every article. The opposite side, if any, usually is buried on page 34 if used at all.
