Speaking of talking points, Republicans should hammer home the point that Americans have elected conservative Republican presidents, with only one exception, for the past TWENTY FIVE years: Reagan, Bush I, the exception, Bush II.
Out of those 7 presidential terms, Dems have had 2 (28%). Yet SCOTUS has 4 solid liberals out of 9 total (44%)--not including O'Connor. Since no liberal is retiring, they will retain their share despite their inability to win at the ballot box. Seems more than fair to me!
Since Ginsburg was the last appointment we need to balance her appointment accordingly.
