Sorry to mix threads, but I am watching FOX news and am convinced that any child sex offender should NEVER leave prison.
They just cut to Maroon 5 just in time to see them doing the last 10 seconds of their big hit. This after 5 minutes of commercials.
They'll be thrilled when they pop in the tape tomorrow.
When I came back from Live Aid my buddy, who taped the entire day, leant me his tapes and I watched it....all MTV did was show performances all day... not this half-a-bit here, half-a-bit there crap....then again the bands I am watching today cannot carry the jock straps of the band I saw 20 years ago...
I just tuned in & saw the Puff Daddy skin care infomercial.
From what I understand, this is to push Bush and Blair at the G8 summit to give more of your and my tax dollars in aid.

Live 8 Falls Behind Schedule

Live8 was running about an hour late just after 4 p.m. when Jay-Z and Linkin Park took the Art Museum stage and rocked the Parkway, packed with hundreds of thousands of people for the historic concert for African debt relief.
Authorities reported five arrests for disorderly conduct by mid-afternoon, with no traffic problems or serious injuries, although the humidity and the crowded conditions sent about 22 people to area hospitals for treatment of dehydration. Another 100 people were treated at one of the five medical tents along the Parkway, mostly for heat exhaustion.
Thousands heeded advice to take public transit, as SEPTA trains heading into the city were jammed, with delays in some cases.
Portable toilets near the Art Museum stage were oversubscribed, but lines were moderate farther east on the parkway.
"Other than the fact that it's hot, it's going beautifully," Deputy Police Commissioner Patricia Giorgio-Fox said. She said traffic was flowing smoothly throughout the city and that, contrary to pre-concert fears, neighborhood surrounding the Parkway were not jammed.
As Bon Jovi played about 12:30 p.m., Nina Curcio made it to the altar in the Cathedral of Ss. Peter and Paul on time, the beads on her white gown sparkling brightly, to marry her fiance, Joseph DiTomo, in a ceremony that drew about 50 relatives and friends.
"You couldn't hear a thing," said Curcio, 22, before she and her new husband headed to South Jersey for their reception in Bellmawr. Wedding attendees, expecting to be snarled in traffic, were amazed at how easy it was to penetrate to near the heart of the happening.
A police officer and two officials from the city Department of Licenses and Inspections were treated for burned hands after coming in contact with an unknown hazardous chemical, according to Stefanie Porges, a physician from the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania who was in charge of medical services at an emergency tent at 22nd and the Parkway.
The chemical, which was not considered a public safety hazard, had been thrown into a trash can as the officials were in search of unlicensed souvenir T-shirts, Porges said. The officials were being treated at Hahnemann Hospital.
Philadelphia Detective James Seymour said one fan was standing on top of the Port-a-Potty at 22nd and the Parkway to better see the show and it collasped. No serious injuries were reported.
By midafternoon, the Parkway was about half-filled, meaning there were at least 200,000 people - and the crowd was beginning to swell. As some were arriving, however, others were leaving, driven away by the heat and the crush.
Sun Chang, 31, had driven down from Spring Valley, N.Y. on Friday night for the music, but she left the area in front of the stage just before 1 p.m., without seeing the acts she had come for, Alicia Keyes and Destiny's Child.
"It's too packed," she said, "People stepping all over you. We're going to get something to eat and then probably go and watch it on TV."
Jason Quarantillo, 27, drove up from the Baltimore area, but found the experience overwhelming. "It's tough to get around," he said. "It's like a human zoo."
East of 18th on the Parkway where the music was not audible, the atmosphere was more like a street fair, with vendor booths selling everything from Falun Gong pamphlets to Alex's Lemonade. Spotting balloons floated high above the porta-potty stations and medical tents.
Nick Taedia, 17, and Joe Pizzo, 15, of Mayfair, were working at a water ice stand - but their real offering was "Free Hugs and Kisses with purchase."
"Then we got lazy and started doing it for free," Taedia said. "We're just spreading the love around," added a shirtless Pizzo.
Four hours into their "work," the duo estimated they had given out thousands of hugs and kisses. "My hugs are getting better all the time."
He then delivered three hugs in a row to a group of teenage girls. Then an older woman came up, but started to walk away when she saw "with purchase" on their sign.
"It's free!" Pizzo told her. "Free?" she said. Then she gave him a hug.
The sound quality improved as one approached the Art Museum. But at 20th Street, the edge of the thickest part of the crowd, it sounded tinny, like a passing car with its radio turned up too loud.
Dyneisha Tyson, 12, walked 30 blocks from North Philadelphia to hear Jay-Z and Destiny's Child, but left quickly because of the crowd.
"It was really crowded. You couldn't see the sky, said Tyson as she walked back to North Philadelphia.
"There's too many people," said her friend Latifa Raymond, 14, also of North Philadelpia.
A group of friends sitting outside of Whole Foods Market about five blocks from the Parkway enjoyed the concert in the shade.
"It's better here," said Dan Magro, 18 of Philadelphia. "We can hear what they are singing."
Earlier, he and his three were sitting about 75 feet from the stage during Black Eyed Peas performance. They also left because of the crammed conditions in front of the stage.
"I had to fake sick," said Sarah Doherty, 16 of Philadelphia, who pretended to vomit get out of the crowd.

IIRC, MTV had non-stop coverage during the day, but the feed switched to ABC in the evening, when it became a Dick Clark production. Dick proceeded to do everything short of showing us photos of his grandchildren instead of letting us see Led Zeppelin.
The bad?? The rap performances. Rap wasn't made to be done live. Jay-Z sang about pimpin, bitches, and hoes. Black Eyed Peas didn't sound good IMO.
The political rants have been going on now and then. Jay-Z talked about the billions we're spending to kill people...etc. MTV is running commericals with some guy's voice talking about he doesn't understand why we're in Iraq. Another commercial playing non-stop is about gays getting harrassed.
Crap! I missed Def Leppard! I need to quit flipping away everytime a commercial comes on.

London is setting up the stage for The Who, then Floyd. THey have this bloke on there making jokes while the stage is being set.
