Apparently they did interview one party-attendee for some 7 hours, but released him. And never suspected the father even though he failed part of his lie detector test and had no alibi.

So they know something from the crime scene, and they seem to be thinking it was premeditated.

Yes, I remember that guy from the party. He was awaiting sentencing for something. I didn't follow the case much after that--just to google for news and enough to know that Jesse was in jail. Read a little about some of the other stuff at CTV forum a day or two ago. But all along the cops kept saying that the dad wasn't a suspect & something about the way they said he wasn't made me think they meant it (vs the song & dance you usually hear). And, an older son was murdered. To me, that pointed away from the dad.
