It sure looks like he is confessing a different, recent crime. From what I am hearing on Fox, it seems likely that he has done other bad deeds lately.
He mentions an encrypted diary. He does not realize that it will only take a few hours for NSA to break that particular encryption.
Read his second entry there...I believe he is a serial killer based on his own words. They need to find and decode that encrypted journal.
