20 years, I believe.
Sentenced to 20 years; served 14 years or thereabouts.
I'm in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. I'm listening to the PRESS CONFERENCE on local radio ... looks like FOX/CNN haven't picked this up yet.
Basically it sounds like the police are saying ... He PROMISED to keep in touch with us ... we didn't hear anything ... we assumed there were no problems. ....
FOX just couldn't break in on the Sandra Day O'Conner story. jeeeezzzzzz.......
Good catch! Did you see one of my older posts here from the freak's blog - that when he graduated he wanted to move to a southern state, near Kansas City?
LEA news conferences coming up at 5 p.m. FOX will be covering. One in Fargo, one in Coeur D'Alene.
Like an old friend says?
They took him at his word.
Now they are blaming the community for not coming out to their "sexual preditor" community meetings .... it's the community fault because they didn't know he was among us. ... UNREAL!!!! What a jerk
There's those zip ties again...and blows to the head too.
Heck... I'm surprised they dropped the Aruba thing for that one.
Thanks!
Hope FOX isn't still hashing over
S D O'Conner or I'll have to
switch channels again.
FOX was 10 minutes behind msnbc
when this story broke today.
Yes, and when the creep was "confessing", he sounded like he was reading a crime novel....how can anyone be that cold?
I would say it's probably a good idea this news conference isn't broadcast national-wide ... I'm EMBARASSED!!! I'm from this area .... unreal
Those leads have led agents to the Lowe's in Couer d'Alene and specifically to people who bought white zip ties.
Brenda Groene, her son Slade and boyfriend Mark McKenzie were found murdered inside their Wolf Lodge Bay home two weeks ago last Monday.
Investigators have released few details about the crime scene but on Tuesday KREM 2 News learned that the three murder victims were bound with white zip ties possibly purchased from the Coeur d'Alene Lowes. FBI agents have interviewed people who bought the zip ties from the store including a local businessman who did not want to be identified.
FBI agents confirmed to KREM 2 News that the zip ties are an important clue in the case along with the murder weapon. Investigators have not revealed what it is but the Coroners report said the device used killed the victim's quickly........"

These people were bound, gagged, and, from what I understand, brutally tortured and beaten.

Worst, a forensic psychiatrist with more than 32 years' experience, also thinks it's doubtful that only one person could have slaughtered the entire Groene family. "A crime scene with three people bound and gagged, and then repeatedly bludgeoned, certainly suggests to me than more than one person did this," said Worst, who specializes in rural psychiatry, psychiatric standards of care, and post traumatic-stress disorder.
A gag is used to prevent someone from screaming or from warning another person among other purposes.
Why would all of the murder victims be gagged in the home that was far from neighbors and sat back away from the highway? Who were the perp(s) trying to keep from hearing the victims? The 2 children?
lawdy!
What gall! They want the community to help them keep track of sexual preditors?
The public should hit their LE REALLY HARD, for making such a blatant statement and slaping them in the face!
Maybe it was just to keep them quiet as they watched the others being beaten to death.
This case is getting sicker and sicker.
I had been looking for evidence of cigarette burns on those killed at the home.
