There seem to be a few parents willing to help him achieve that status.
Schools and school districts, in fact the whole education apparatus, would be just fine if it weren't for those pesky students. They use up time and money that could better be used on salaries and new buildings. In addition you have to spend all that time teaching them and then they go and flunk the tests and make everybody look bad. There is nothing wrong with our schools that couldn't be fixed by outlawing students.
I said it in a joking manner. I never said it would be bad. Sorry, I agree with you there.
My gosh, it was a joke. Do I really need to answer?
ARRRRRRGGGGGGHHH! It was a joke!!!!:) Oh well...
There were a lot of things done in the old days that people would scream to sue for now.
OMG...please stay up in Massachusettes.
Sounds like the wrong person is in the fourth grade.
My thoughts exactly.... about the rogue principal.
The teacher volunteered her time, HER OWN TIME, in the way she saw fit.
It would be no different from a policeman paying someone else's speeding ticket.
He does not undermine anyone's authority. He simply commits a good deed that was in his heart.
Ever thought of becoming a Pharisee?
You mean it is not true in your school district?

Ayn Rand was right when she identified Libertarians as, "Hippies of the Right."
I always try to have consequences related to the infraction. It makes more sense that way. If the girl had been throwing rocks, having her gather rocks would make sense. What is baffling here is that neither the teacher NOR the parents were able to get the child to do homework (so that the Principal became involved)?? How lame are they? She's just a fourth grader.
Perhaps the parents and teacher had tried all the regular stuff for homework problems, and the Principal was trying for something shocking and embarrasing. But I doubt it. Sadly, all the ineffectual adults around her will do the child more harm than picking up rocks.
I was doing a bunch of threads so I must ask to what you were referring. However, if it is teachers not having to belong to the union. Yes, it is true in my district AND my state.
You're missing the point. Why risk putting that child in such a dangerous situation in the first place? By the time you get a detailed description of the "burly sex predator" - whether you get that description from a "diminutive female teacher", or by reviewing the video from the security camera - it's already too late.
Maybe the child did misbehave, and should have been disciplined. Are you going to tell me that this is the only possible punishment that could have been administered in this situation? We're talking about a little girl in the fourth grade, not some hardened criminal.
There is something sadistic about a principal would would subject this little girl to that type of punishment.
