What a GREAT grand opening!!

Auspiciously coinciding with the the 4th of July and the grand opening of "Danny's All-American Gourmet Hotdogs" - the US Nimitz is now in town for the first time ever!!

Ya'll are all invited down!! If you know anyone aboard the USS Nimitz tell them to come on down to Hartamas Square in Sri Hartamas for some down home real authentic Texas cooking and Ice Cold beers!!

I've been up all night cooking a few extra pots of Chili Con Carne so hopefully we will have plenty for everyone who shows up!

During that time, the ship had travelled 132 million miles, which was equivalent to 5,000 times around the earth, and called at 150 countries, he added.

12,000 miles per day? Huh?

*PING*

Please PING all your lists!

If you know someone on the Nimitz, "Hartamas Square" in Sri Hartamas is about a 15 minute taxi ride from downtown Kuala Lumpur. It is also on the entertainment districts in the area and close to Bangsar as well.

I promise to get pictures of our troops enjoying some real down home American and Texas cooking away from home this 4th of July!!

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY TO EVERYONE!

" Rear Admiral Peter H. Daly, the commander of the Nimitz's Carrier Strike Group Eleven, said the crews were eager to witness Malaysian culture and people during the five-day port call. "

Of course!

One would hope that they'll be paying greater attention to the ships' security. One "Cole" was more than enough.

132,000,000 million miles in 30 years...well now, that is what I call full speed ahead!

At continuous sea duty with ZERO ports of call, that is 12,054.8 miles in one day. With 24 hours in one day, that is 502.3 miles per hour.

Damn, now that is high tech! No wonder the U.S. wanted to keep some specs classified. OK you Ruskies and Chicoms, let's see you build a Nimitz Class carrier that can beat ours--say, 503.3 miles per hour!

Remember that movie with Kirk Douglas on the USS Nimitz? No wonder there was a time warp in that movie.

For your "intense patriotic interest!"

HOW PROUD CAN WE BE?! Super news, expatguy! Thanks for this post! GOD BLESS AMERICA!

Spreading democracy, American generosity and the abundant good will of the American people is NOT "imperialism!"
