Good point. Maybe Wilson was the original source, and Novak may have talked to some White House source; the WH source, knowing that Novak already knew, confirmed it.

BTW, has it ever been confirmed that Plame was indeed a classified officer of the CIA, and not simply some analyst? The "All Stars" on with Brit Hume last night were saying that there was no crime committed in the "leak."

There was no "WH source" at all. It was an "administration source".

I've never bought the Joe Wilson is the source theory. I've always said it was offered by way of explanation, not retaliation. It most likely was the CIA and possibly someone at State. (There are two officials)
