Fixin' dinner tomorrow night for a few friends, watching baseball (Texas Rangers), and just chillin' out here in the Texas heat. I'm not complaining, as I know our military troops have it worse than us.

Too bad about the negative press regarding the Texas Rangers baseball team. In my humble opinion, I think the player who displayed less than desirable behavior should be let go. However, they didn't ask me. ; > )

I enjoyed pro athletics the short time I lived in Houston. Ha re: bad press... Is the press ever good? about anything? take a mole hill & you get Everest; take a wonderful event & pretend it doesn't exist. Can you imagine if they covered the revolutionary war????

Have a nice weekend

Masterpiece presentation!!!
Gonna be a HOT weekend (102 today). 4th of July Parade on Monday, family get-togethers with BBQ, Hot (cool)tubbing and Slip 'n Sliding.
Maybe throw in a few squirt-gun battles.
Dogs are cowering and underfoot with all the illegal fireworks going off.
Got the Mustang fed and watered and will be heading down to FResno for the rally tonight (top down, of course).
Y'all have a great weekend!

The Fresno rally.. guess since I live in Ohio, I wasn't invited? har.

Hope Lori or Dave (or both) will take some FReeper pix & post.. of any of the FReepers there.

Have fun.

My dog is terrified of the fireworks also Dave. Between pre holiday boom-boom's & God's thunderboomers the past few days, he is getting psychotic. Therapy needed no doubt

He is TOOOOOOO precious. I think if I had a little one like that I would never get anything done. It is bad enough with Oliver. Wish I could have seen O as a little pup. When I rescued him he was about 6 mo (according to vet)..

about time to go to beach... I decided to wait so I could get in the work traffic. smart huh?

That's exactly what I am getting done....NOTHING, and I have company coming on the 5th. Yikes! I sure hope they understand that these are puppy's "formative years" and playing with him is much more important than cleaning. LOL

This is from my brother, the Minister's father-in-law. I though y'all might enjoy it. Be back later!

EAGLE MINISTRIES

IT IS WELL

"One never recognizes the worth of the anchor until he has experienced the fury of the storm. Only those who have gone through deep waters and bitter trials can know the comfort and reassurance that the Lord lovingly bestows in those hours of darkness when we seek His aid and cry for relief. Truly the peace of God that then floods our soul passes all understanding."

This truth has been abundantly illustrated in the life of H. G. Spafford. In 1873 this successful Christian businessman lost all of his material possessions in the great Chicago fire. Just a few weeks later he saw his wife and children off for a trip to France. He said goodbye to them as they departed on the ship, "Ville du Havre." This ship was rammed by an English vessel and sank within two hours - claiming the lives of 226 people. Although Mrs. Spafford survived, all four of their children perished. While en route to Europe to join his wife, Spafford was given the tragic news and later shown the spot in the mid-Atlantic where the shipwreck occurred. Although heartsick with grief, Mr. Spafford suddenly felt an inrush of spiritual peace and comfort as he looked to the Lord for strength. With tears streaming down his face, he picked up a pen to record his feelings, and from his heart there flowed these words:

"When peace, like a river, attendeth my way,

when sorrows like sea billows roll;

whatever my lot,

Thou hast taught me to say,

`It is well, it is well, with my soul."

As we find ourselves fast approaching another time of national thanksgiving, isn't this one of the grandest themes of all? "It is well with my soul!" No matter what is happening in our world, our neighborhood, no matter if health is failing and dreams seem shattered, it is still "well with my soul." And I have Jesus to thank for that.

There are many things we can be thankful in this life of ours. But the best is that through Jesus Christ our Lord we can say with finality, "It is well with my soul."

Hi, back, Michael and thanks for the ping. Long time no ping! Missed you too.

Hmmm, aren't ya being a little too chummy with Dolly, eh, "Nickie Pooh?" :-)

Hubby and I couldn't make it to DC this year, again. It's the darn work thing. Not fair!
