I have a source who is connected to a wife of one of the justices. She sent an e-mail stating that O'Connor was retiring

Someone suggested last week that Janice Rogers Brown would be a perfect replacement for O'Connor. She maintains the female seat on the court, and the Democrats would have a hard time calling her too "extreme" since they just allowed her confirmation to the appellate court to proceed a couple of weeks ago.
