That is correct, I am not saying that it's not legally possible to try it, but they will say that his plea poisons the case, anything resulting from that investigation would consist of the "Poisonous Tree Doctrine", and bear in mind he did this in Massachusetts that has a habit of making up law as they go along. John Adama must spin in his grave constantly! SO yes it is possible to try it, BUT, up a very steep hill. Then, what if perish the thought, he was aquitted? I think the resulting crowing would drive me an early grave.

McCain's not fishing for the job and even if he was, we have a dem governor who would be only too willing to appoint a dem replacement. People thought Rehnquist would retire due to his cancer, but Ginsburg has had cancer and she's still there (unfortunately). Good weekend for fireworks huh?
I don't wish anyone harm, but I've thought that as the justices age --especially considering how many have cancer-- there's greater chance of having 2 or 3 or more openings concurrently. GWB absolutely has to have a stable of people from whence to pick a nominee.
Here's what I think President Bush should do:
Appoint Bill Clinton to the Supreme Court!
He's more moderate than Hillary.
He'd fit right in.
He'd sail right through, it would cut Hillary off at the knees.
He has a bad heart.
More reitrements are likely.
AND IT WOULD SHUT THE DIMRATS UP ON EVERYTHING Including Bolton.

Uh, there is nothing in the rules or bylaws, that says that your beverage has consist of alcohol, however, it can make things infinitely more entertaining. :Z
Bill Clinton was disbarred because of lying under oath - that alone would be the first of a LONG LIST OF REASONS NOT TO APPOINT A CLINTON TO ANYTHING - EVER!
