Sigh! What does this have to do with anything? I mean really? Murders are up close and personal, any ammo will leave you dead if it hits the right spot! How many people other then police run around in body armor?
LIVE THREAD - Senate Debate S.397 - FOUR amendments will probably be voted on.

This (long) video I watched last night was interesting
They talked alot about doing pro-bono cases and how working in big firms allow this lawyers the opporunity to do that
How is that you ask??
Well .. pro bono mean you take a case for free
Well if you want to pay your bills .. you can't do pro bono case
However, if you have LARGE settlement cases .. it gives you the opporunity to do both

A message from the President of the United States? WTH? Mine would be stop fooling around and vote already! LOL
Evan Bayh trying to move back to the center with an Aye on Craig.
That had BETTER be true.
Didn't I call it???
McCain is up grandstanding about the pork---which there ALWAYS is in these bills, but you watch he will vote FOR it!
You rock Sleuth! Indiana got no pork! We was robbed! LOL
Gee Txsleuth, you really called it...
MCCain did complain about pork, but alas, you were WRONG, he voted against it....you idiot!
Durbin just got up and gave a ridiculous performance....but right now I am so angry I can't type it....
later
sleuth
I thought we were adjounrned but Dick Durbin is on my TV!
Senator Cute as a Button is in the big chair!
The dems and and Lamar Alexander and Frist had to get their final SHOTS in...
Alexander, REPUBLICAN, just called for a 9/11 commission thingy regarding the TORTURE CHAMBERS in Afghanistan, Iraq, and Gitmo!!!!
Of course, the dems are crying about everything...and Frist, just muddled through like he always does...
On Brit's show, Krauthammer came down on Frist's side (that is too bad), but admitted that Frist is gonna lose support from his base in a POTUS race...
Bill O'REilly, on his show, also called for a 9/11 type commission regarding the TORTURE CHAMBERS....
def----I am feeling really down tonight...the dems got their way on the SCOTUS hearings, Frist got right up and went against Bush....and the stupid Congress passed an Energy Bill that doesn't even have off-shore drilling or drilling in ANWR in it...
Maybe I do need a break from politicians....but not from Free Republic....you and I and our other Senate threaders need to keep each other motivated to send e-mails and such so that the Congresscritters don't think that we will FORGET all of this crapola!
RIGHT??????
I just saw a new thread about how the Senate on a unanimous consent non roll-call vote agreed to PART of the Patriot Act renewal....but the changes that the Senate made, have made President Bush unhappy...
Did I miss like 2-3 days of debate on the Senate floor, with amendments that such about the Patriot Act? I don't think they even mentioned it...
I watched the House debate it for at least 2-3 days a couple of weeks ago...and have amendments and such...but I guess our Senate has decided that WE THE PEOPLE don't even need to know that it was debated and slipped in while we weren't looking...
What a crock of crapola!!!! I thought I was angry after Frist's little trick yesterday...now this....SHEESH
I'm going to go look for the thread. Be back soon.
By golly, I think that's exactly right.

Frist is just digging his political grave deeper and deeper with me...
Why did he do this essentially in secret? I am really hoping that when it goes to conference with the House, that the HOUSE holds up THEIR end of the bargain....
I already had about 3-4 things that I was gonna e-mail my two senators about....this is also gonna get included!
