This activity in Kunar province is quite along ways from the usual hotspots in Zabol, Urguzan and Kandahar provinces. But it is close to Islamabad, Peshwar and Mardan in Pakistan.

Your right, this area is awfully close to where Bin Laden was supposed to be hiding (if he's alive).

Konar's always been sporty. There are three nexuses of enemy action, the one you mention, one in Paktia and Paktika that is as much Zadran tribal mischief as anything (Khost and Gardez are cities with a lot of action), and one in Konar and Nangrahar.
