Former Clinton National Security Advisor Sandy Berger pled guilty on April 1 to smuggling five classified documents, including a highly secret memorandum.
Two men walk into the National Archives [no this isn't a joke] one steals letters dating back to the civil war then sells them on EBay. The other steals classified documents related to terrorism then destroys them in order to deceive investigators. Which man receives the stiffer penalty.

Why did Sandy Berger not go to jail?
Why did the Justice Department sabotage the David Rosen prosecution?
Why did Bill Clinton ride in the Bush family boat?
Why did H.W. Bush give Ted Kennedy an award for public service 1 week after Kennedy called his son a "liar" on the Senate floor?
Why....?
To: Hank Rearden
100% agreed.
This is atrocious but not surprising

True! I thought they were going to throw Trent Lott in jail over the positive comments that he had for Strom Thurmond on his 100th birthday.
Still, the GOP stands by and watches this national security breach and nary a word is said; Don't want to be confrontational, or "politically incorrect". Don't want to "nuke" the opposition, or come off being the bad guy. Don't make them stand up and have a real filibuster when the Dems are "supposedly" filibustering. Let them take your property. Let them take the White House silverware. Liberals get away with it because they know they will and NOBODY would dare to stop them!
Sorry, don't mean to be a downer, but the GOP frustrates the hell out of this conservative and I'm tired of listening to the whining of "it's not fair", "the RATS get away with it again". The Democrats and the media get away with everything our conservative representatives let them get away with.

"It's the Big Government types scratching each other's back. Simple."
It isn't just big government, all government employees get a break. Government workers can lie, cheat, steal, kill and get a much lighter sentence than the rest of us.
A school bus driver, here in Georgia, killed three children through negligence and received 90 days. If she had been working for Greyhound she'd have gotten years. County employees embezzle thousands of taxpayer funds and only have to spend a few months in jail and pay a small percent back.
Government workers also receive special protection under the law. A few weeks ago a man was arrested because he used a four letter word in an argument with a teacher on school property. If that same man did that to a cashier at Wal-mart the police wouldn't have even shown up to take the complaint.
Government workers should be held to a higher standard. When I was a child working for the government meant something. You were looked up to because government jobs couldn't be had by just anyone. Today, it seems, most government workers are former welfare recipients.

Does anyone still think "Compromised, by Terrence Reed" is still tin foil hat stuff?

That wasn't a downer at all! It was a GREAT post. Exactly the way I feel ![FED UP] I read somewhere or heard somewhere[ cant remember which,] that....Republicans don't know how to use their power to their full advantage. Or maybe it's that they don't feel comfortable yet using their power. I say they better get comfortable with it! Otherwise the RATS will be more than happy to take it back, and I guarantee they have no problem ramming their RAT like laws down our throats. No problem at all!

Good points.
Here are some other government employees who have or will walk away from jailtime. Care to add to the list?
Sandy Berger (D).
Rep. Dan Rostenkowski (D).*
Senator Robert Toricelli (D).
Governor James McGreevy (D).
Senator Edward Kennedy (D).
*Rostenkowski actially did some time in prison, but I think it was for mail fraud after he left Congress.

To me the bigger question is why is it so easy to steal from the National Archives? What else of important historical value is missing and how will we know it is? You can forget about what was sent to Little Rock for the Clinton Library. That has been vacuumed so that Slick looks like Jesus.

I've always been conservative, but never felt inclined to join my Dad's party. I very nearly signed on just before the '04 election, but stuff like this and the "nuclear option cave-in" just make me wonder why I would join such a group?
I have a tremendous amount of respect for the President and I'm so glad we have him in office, but I just don't get it sometimes.
I should be complaining? You are out there in the land of fruit and nuts. Hang tough and give one of them California libs a little hell from the Free State!!

Will do! [And by the way you don't have to join the GOP,] JUST VOTE FOR EM!!!

The Bushes and the Sh#%heads are very buddy-buddy; that's all there is to it. You need to read "Compromised" by Terry Reed and John Cummings, then you would understand perfectly..

You are too smart to make that kind of connection.
The problem is .. we don't know what kind of information Berger gave up to get the lighter sentence. Unfortunately, it's done all the time. We just don't like it because it appears like another one of the Clinton gang is getting away scott free.
I don't like it either .. but I'm confident it has nothing to do with GBush1 and family.
