Great article. Great advice. Hope someone in the admin. is paying attention.
"morally justified"
You are exactly correct.
But .. in the war in Ezekiel, it's Russia, China, and all the Muslim nations from the north who congregate in the Valley of Miggido .. to take out Israel because they are the worst nation on the face of the earth. However, what they don't know is that although Israel's army will show up in the Valley to meet them .. somebody else will also show up - the somebody who has ALL THE MORAL AUTHORITY necessary to take on this murderous bunch .. GOD. When GOD starts throwing rocks .. this bunch will not know what hit them .. and the world is going to be able to view the massacre on TV. On top of Mt. Carmel in the Valley of Miggigo is a TV station.
In Nahum 1:3 - "The Lord is slow to anger, and great in power, and will not at all acquit the wicked: ..."
In Nahum 1:6 - "Who can stand before His indignation? and who can abide in the fierceness of his anger? His fury is poured out like fire, and the rocks are thrown down by Him."
Betcha didn't know GOD throws rocks ..??
Women have no standing/power as Muslims. That woman you knew could well have been kindly, etc., but her male relatives could have been something else. In a very real sense, it's comparable to Catholics espousing abortion. Various Cardinals during the recent Presidential campaign called for John Kerry's excommunication/or denial of the Sachrament of the Eucharist because of his publicly stated position. (How would the world react if the Pope suddenly talked about returning to the days of the Spanish Inquisition or suggested chopping off the heads of non-Catholics? You can bet your bottom dollar the Vatican wouldn't receive the 'we need to understand' nonsense Islam and Muslims get.) Religion and certainly Catholicism isn't a buffet where you pick and choose what to believe. You eat the whole enchilada.
Here's a quote from Iraq:.....
The following verse is from the Koran, (the Islamic Bible)
Koran (9:11) - For it is written that a son of Arabia would awaken a fearsome Eagle. The wrath of the Eagle would be felt throughout the lands of Allah and lo, while some of the people trembled in despair still more rejoiced; for the wrath of the Eagle cleansed the lands of Allah; and there was peace.
(Note the verse number!) Hmmmmmmm?! God Bless you all Amen !
Rocks? That could be a short form for 'rockets.' Perhaps a translation error. ;>
Or perhaps those 'Little Boys' and 'Fat Man's' look like rocks from a distance.
Either way, whatever works. I tend to believe that God works through his people these days. He has provided us with the means to do his will.
VERY INTERESTING -
1. The garden of Eden was in Iraq.
2. Mesopotamia, which is now Iraq, was the cradle of civilization!
3. Noah built the ark in Iraq.
4. The Tower of Babel was in Iraq.
5. Abraham was from Ur, which is in Southern Iraq!
6. Isaac's wife Rebekah is from Nahor, which is in Iraq!
7. Jacob met Rachel in Iraq.
8. Jonah preached in Nineveh - which is in Iraq.
9. Assyria, which is in Iraq, conquered the ten tribes of Israel.
10. Amos cried out in Iraq!
11. Babylon, which is in Iraq, destroyed Jerusalem.
12. Daniel was in the lion's den in Iraq!
13. The three Hebrew children were in the fire in Iraq (Jesus had been in Iraq also as the fourth person in the fiery furnace!)
14. Belshazzar, the King of Babylon saw the "writing on the wall" in Iraq.
15. Nebuchadnezzar, King of Babylon, carried the Jews captive into Iraq.
16. Ezekiel preached in Iraq.
17. The wise men were from Iraq.
18. Peter preached in Iraq.
19. The "Empire of Man" described in Revelation is called Babylon, which was a city in Iraq!
And you have probably seen this one. Israel is the nation most often mentioned in the Bible. But do you know which nation is second? It is Iraq! However, that is not the name that is used in the Bible. The names used in the Bible are Babylon, Land of Shinar, Persia and Mesopotamia The word Mesopotamia means between the two rivers, more exactly between the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers. The name Iraq, means country with deep roots.
Indeed Iraq is a country with deep roots and is a very significant country in the Bible.
No other nation, except Israel, has more history and prophecy associated it than Iraq.
And also.. This is something to think about! Since America is typically represented by an eagle. Saddam should have read up on his Muslim passages...
Actually, it is a buffet. The world is TEAMING with people who are browsing complacently along, picking through their religions, choosing which rules they agree with and sort of shrugging off those they don't. All anyone needs is a holy book and the ability to read it, and immediately they'll gravitate to some elements of their religion more than others. And the Muslim world is teaming with vague types whose notion of Islam is as generic and shallow as the many "Christians" who aren't even sure if they believe Jesus rose again.
Look, I'm no fan of Islam. But there are moderate muslims. They are muslims because they were raised that way (so they certainly aren't anything else) but they are moderate because they are just not that into religion. You've seen the Christian equivalent. Is it really so hard to believe there are Muslims who have some vague notion that being muslim means, essentially, you don't eat pork and you pray to the east... and not much else?
But if they repent and keep up prayer and pay the poor-rate, they are your brethren in faith; and We make the communications clear for a people who know.
bflr
I also searched for the word "eagle" and nothing came up. I went to two different online versions and searched. Nothing came up.
Clearly, American Catholics have a big problem with endorsing everything that emanates from the Vatican, and even without the pedophile priest scandals, this caused huge losses among the faithful. Islam is even more vocal when it comes to making sure believers stick to the Koran. That said, fanaticism in any form is dangerous, and wars over religion have killed more people than you can shake a stick at.
The US has a large resident Muslim population from Middle Eastern countries, and among them are surely many who just want to live a peaceful life, etc.. But some of these people have families in Pakistan or Iran, or wherever. What happens when just such a Muslim is told relatives back home will suffer or die if he doesn't join in the Jihad against the West? This is a very real dilemma.
Thanks for posting.
And danamco would do well to check out this link.
http://urbanlegends.about.com/library/bl_quran_911.htm
It appeared an awfully strident screed to me as well.
http://www.snopes.com/politics/war/quran.asp
Snopes debunks this as an urban legend.
Sounds good, but it is NOT in the koran.
We don't know all the particulars and details about the author's experience as a Muslim, and what happened after he left the religion. So the article is anecdotal and very personal. Of course, considering 9/11 and everything else, it has relevance.
Thank you for correcting me!
I'll forward this back to whom I got it from!!
I should have checked it out, but got it from a Christian friend, sorry!!!

As much as I would like to believe this, it is fiction! Check out this site:
http://www.truthorfiction.com/rumors/k/koran-war.htm
The radical IMAMS would be in a tizzy if it were true because they can read the KORAN probably better than you or I! They would ALL be preaching dis-engagement from the moment that the U.S. (Eagle) started putting men and materiel into Kuwait, and counciling woud-be head-hackers and suicide murders to stay at home. This just hasn't happened!
I am equally certain that there were Nazi Germans who were generally alright folks - but this in no way demonstrates that Nazism was anything other than barbarous.
If Justinian had not persecuted the Monophysites, had not squandered the wealth of his empire on the folly of reconquering Italy, had not wasted Bellisarius' talents, and had joined in some form of peace with Khosroes of Persia... there would never have been an Islam.
