I don't really see a difference between a "planner" and a "hostage arm-holder".

He's in the picture. Obviously, the "hostage arm-holder" feels pretty comfortable with that other guy.

I think there may be some semantic games being played....

He might have just been a planner, not actually ONE of the ** HOSTAGE TAKERS **

The hairline of the guy in the turtle-neck matches better with the second photo in the BBC second picture,.

Can you crop the photo of the guy to the far right and do the same thing you just did here?

In the picture on the left, the new president of Iran's nose is huge.

In the circled picture in #6, the guy on the far right looking down also has a big nose. Maybe bigger than that on the guy holding the hostage's arm.

I'm not that HTML- or Photoshop-talented. I actually grabbed this photo combo from another news site earlier today.

Question: Let's say it was proven 100% that the guy in the photo and the president-elect of Iran is the same guy .....then what? As in what can we seriously do about it? What (viable) options are available?

Then it needs to be covered all over this country and everywhere else in the world so that everyone understands who the new President of Iran really is.

That's "then what".

Good point...seems like we could, de facto, consider all the hard line screw balls in Iran complicit with the hostage taking in 1980.

All it does is reinforce two things...

1)CARTER is an idiot.
2)We have had a long established precedent for War with Iran. (under the we're gonna kick your arse for unfinished business rule.)

But three Iranians involved in the action, as well as Mr Ahmadinejad's own staff, have denied that he took part.

From - http://www.bangladesh-web.com/news/view.php?hidDate=2005-06-29&hidType=EDT&hidRecord=0000000000000000050184

Ahmadinejad’s message to Iranian voters was simple. Being a self-proclaimed fundamentalist he sought a return to the moral “purity” of the early years of the Islamic revolution (1979-1988), has also insisted freedom in Iran “is already beyond what could be imagined.” His campaign took up the pocketbook issues. Iran is facing a massive unemployment (about 30%). He promised to improve the economy, create jobs, etc. In contrast to that, Rafsanjani talked more about ideology and about the deterioration of relationship between Iran and the West.

He could be playing the Clintonian parsing game!

The guy on the far right is not holding the hostage,....but he is walking a few steps ahead, as though he might have a higher rank in the pecking order!

Ok. Let's say that the MSM actually decides to do that , and that soon everyone in the US (and world) knows that the Iranians 'elected' a participant in the vile kidnappings of those embassy people. Then what happens?

What I am asking is if there is any real (and by real i mean tangible) action that can be taken against Iran? Is any action even possible for that matter? Can assets be frozen ala the Libya scenario where significant cash sums were frozen after the Pan Am Flight 103 (Lockerbie) incident? Would that even be possible considering this guy was 'elected' by the people of a sovereign nation? (BTW: I know 'elections' in Iran are about as substantive as a snow storm in Hades, but you know that the UN kooks would be frothing at the mouth claiming how Iran was sovereign and such crap)

I've been following this story with interest since it first popped up, but I haven't heard even one word from any of the officials on what would happen if the photographs were proven beyond a doubt.
